Re: 2019 SC25 sports tower corrosion

Hi, I just wanted to tell you I now have a 2021 R8 Outboard model with the Sports Tower Arch. It is experiencing the same corrosion problems in the same areas. All mounting screws holding on the chrome fittings are totally rusted. Exactly same corrosion. After showing photos to the dealer and him fo...

Re: Cobalt 25 SC

Happy Thanksgiving to All. Alex, I was told by the factory rep that a repair to support the upper top on the tower we have has shipped from the outside company that makes that tower for Cobalt. It sounds like it is made from the same white coated pipes that the original is made from. They clearly ar...

Re: Cobalt 25 SC

Sorry, I thought you were getting the 250HP. 300 is perfect on that boat. The NEW 300 hp Verado is a 8 cyl. Not the older 6 cyl that was supercharged. I look at that as a plus. One less expensive part to replace in the future.

Re: Cobalt 25 SC

I have direct access ( no bridges) which is nice. I'm in the SE cape near the Veterans Bridge. I have not gone under and C/C bridges yet. The light just unscrews and would hang on it's wire. I know that 8'-1" is correct. No issues with any questions. We are spending big bucks for these boats. I...

Re: Cobalt 25 SC

I dealt with a gal named Ana. She, along with Josh in the Service Dept. all have been good. Looks like we both have similar options. My 2019 stickered for $143K with what it had, but I have the 300HP new Mercury V8 Verado. You may have to unscrew the 6" light on top of the tower to be sure you ...

Re: Cobalt 25 SC

Hello to all, I just seem to be short of time to look at this site and participate. Not really, just getting older and forget to do it..... I wanted to mention that my 2019 25 SC is now back in Florida with me after having it up north for the summer on Lake Winnipesaukee. My problems still exist. F...

Re: Salt Away Flush

Hi I used the boat in Florida and had the luxury of a lift to keep out of the water. The lift had a service platform where I could kneel down and put the ear muffs on to the intake on the drive. That was connect to a 5 gallon "wintering jug " sold at West Marine and filled with a mixture o...

Re: 2019 Cobalt 25SC design issues

Hi Billchips here. I'm the one with the roof issues holding water. I have been away from the site for awhile, but did just see all your replies and thank you for them. The tower shown in that last photo is not the one I have. Probably not that popular of a top due to it's high costs. This structure ...

Re: Salt Away Flush

Hello, I live in Florida for 6-7 months each year, and have always flushed my I/O SeaRay using Salt Away. Have not had to replace manifolds over the time I've had that boat which was about 4 years. No other issues with water pump either. Now I have a 2019 Cobalt 25SC with a 300HP Mercury V8 Verado. ...

2019 Cobalt 25SC design issues

Hello to All, Earlier this year I purchased my new new boat ever. It was the Cobalt 25SC Bowrider with a white 300HP Mercury. We were excited to have bought this from The Boat House of Cape Coral Florida, close to our home there. This boat was loaded with apprx. $35K in options, bringing the total l...

Re: Cobalt 25sc (outboard) - bottom paint?

I’m keeping the boat in saltwater and was wondering if anyone bottom painted their cobalt before. I am getting a lift but curious of the paint experience. Thanks Hi, I boat in Florida with my 25SC and keep on a lift as not to have to paint the bottom. One, this deducts value when you want to sell o...

Re: Cobalt 25 SC

We saw the boat as the dealer displayed it at the Bonita Springs Boat Show. The Merc 300Hp , Verado was on the boat. It was the new 8-cyl. model which suppose to get around 20% better Gallon Per Hr. usage. Also they told us it did not need service until 100 hours, where the 300 Yam. needed it's firs...

Re: Cobalt 25 SC

Hi, Here is a photo of my 2019 Cobalt SC 25. Heavily optioned boat. Love it except the issues we are having with the top, as well as the bow cushions falling to the deck as we drive.
Thanks, Bill
