Re: New Cobalt owner. Finally!!
Nice boat - it looks like the boat is not pulled up on the trailer all the way - the bow should be right up against the rubber in the top picture. My guess is that you cannot move it now (just be careful until you can reset it when putting back on trailer). Enjoy I noticed that and we backed it dow...

Re: New Cobalt owner. Finally!!
Thanks for the compliments. I’m watching the weather here. Looks like three days of rain. Really don’t want to pull it home in the rain. There was some type of cover in one compartment but I don’t know if it’s towable type. I thought it should have carpet too. The wife doesn’t want it 🤔. I will ask...

Re: Stereo head replacement 08 242
Since I asked the original question - just circling back with what I replaced with - ended up going kenwood marine unit and dash remote. Just wanted to go simple and plug into original hole. Nothing fancy but serves what I need (and maybe more). Thanks for all the replies.

Re: Stereo head replacement 08 242
The face panel is opening up when hitting waves on rough days. (It is on a hinge that drops down for access to like an iPod or MP3 player that we do not use).

Stereo head replacement 08 242
Hi wanted to see some pictures or ideas for replacing the head unit in the glovebox. Seems like technology is passing me by again. I was hoping the units are plug and play into the same hole but looks like new technology are some flat panel screens (like a fusion). Any help or pictures would be grea...

Re: Is This Enough Power?
I had the 7.4l in my 95 220. Would not have a single 7.4l in a 29. Just my opinion. Agree with the other comments about twin handling. Likewise if you have a larger overnight boat - go longer distances/bigger water - I would want the 2nd as a backup if the other had issues to get back safe

Re: Grill on a 242?
We just have this little Coleman grill that fits on the 242 table. Cooks dogs in about 10 minutes. Fits 4 burgers. Fits in small Cary bag with 2 propane bottle holders. Beats soggy subs any day.

Re: Buying 2007 232
Think about a marine survey? I made a mistake the hard way and did not (thought I was pretty good). Had a couple of gel coat cracks around my outer bunks - needless to say it was my own fault and cost me some $$. If I ever purchase a new/used boat, I will have this done Crazy on the interior - outsi...

Nice boat and welcome. I hope you enjoy the cobalt. My first cobalt was a 95 220 and loved it. Enjoy it looks like in great shape.
