I have had the same,u joint replaced and never had the problem
Also when you start your engine always your trim totally down.
I see it daily the engine start with the trim up.
It will damage your u joint.

Mine are here on a 190.
The original from Cobalt,love to have them

Depends on what is for you the best definition of best hull.
For me that is when it is on a rails and the 190 is.
At least mine is ,it also depends what prop you have.
I really can make a turn (90 degrees) with high speed without making a blowout.

Sea trials?
Taken some pictures or film,still love my Cobalt with imo the best hull from Cobalt.

Bought a new trailer drives great.
Dutch brand called freewheeltrailer.

Welcome to the group here tallrobbo. I have a Cobalt 190 .It's a 1996 so the first one they made. I can't see anything on this boat that would be a rot problem. It's pure fiberglass everywhere I can see. I have the 5.0 engine. I can't verify speed because it's a brand new engine with 3 hours so far...

I have put in my phender clips die about a gear now,it was one of the sales i have done.
here in Holland we have got a lot of "sluisen" don't now how is called in english.
But anyway they are perfect use them very much.
