Re: Volvo Penta 8.1 GX-i Oil Volume?
I just changed the oil in my 8.1 today. I extracted just over 6 quarts. The remaining was in the oil filter. When I refilled with the new oil, it took 6.5 quarts to get it to the top of the safe line on the dip stick.

Nice work!! Looks great!! Is that snap-in flooring? I ask because there appears to be snaps. I love the look of the boat.

Re: R5 Swim platform/Gator Step
I placed GatorStep on my swim platform and boat floor. I cleaned it thoroughly with soap and water, then cleaned it with window cleaner with ammonia. Windex with ammonia worked well. Nothing else needs to be done before install. No sanding required. I installed it myself. GatorStep is a bit forgivi...

Re: R5 Swim platform/Gator Step
That'll look great! Looks like it'll match the seagrass well. I don't think you'll regret having it on your swim deck. It helps one to be sure footed when it's wet. Good luck and send finished pics. I like the new name as well.

Re: New to me 2020 R5
Great looking R5, Tan. That should be a blast this summer. It has recently felt, spring-like here, as you well know. We bought ours at Lake Viking 5 yrs ago. Congrats and bring on the boating season!!

Re: R5 Swim platform/Gator Step
My swim deck had the factory textured finish. I cleaned and prepped as stated above and it has adhered to the deck with no issues. After 3 yrs, there hasn't been any edge peel at all. The flooring in your pics look great! I do like the color.

This is GatorStep. I'm very pleased with the results and how well it has held up. I installed myself. Follow the instructions sent with the product and you can install GatorStep yourself. If you have questions, reach out.

Place you info into the request quote area and they'll send a quote for your boat. Expect around $400.
Here's another option.

Re: GatorStep for a 2019 220S
RWM, your flooring (and the whole boat) looks great. I saw your post when searching about GatorStep earlier. This info is great, as the flooring is not something I want to do every two or so years. Also, what 'carpet' was on the main floor of your boat when you opted to do the main floor. I current...

Re: GatorStep for a 2019 220S
Hey folks, hope the New Year was great for all of you.. I have a 2019 220S and was looking to put Gatorstep flooring or some other flooring on the transom, swim deck and walkthrough. The only issue I have is that they only have a template for the 2016 Cobalt 220S. My question is this: How different...

Re: 2005 Cobalt 262
While in the water, it has a 90" clearance. With it on the trailer, I'd add another 26" to 28", minimum, to be safe. Will you be boating in Missouri? Nice looking boat, congrats on your purchase.
