2005 Cobalt 250 Canvas replacement for Bimini
I have a Bimini on an '05 Cobalt 250 that will need to be replaced soon. I was wondering if anybody knows if there is an OEM or replica cover available. These are pretty unique designs/specs so curious if anybody has tried to replace theirs? I've attached a few pics -- forgive the images of friends ...

Faulty LED Temp Gauge (2005 COBALT 250)
I have a faulty LED temp gauge - flickers most of the time, works for a few minutes, then flickers again. Is there any place where I can find a replacement?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
I’m betting when you installed that plug your tool was at an angle and cracked the plug. I’ve had it happen in the past. For me the end always fell off right then. I’d put another plug in it if the threads are good. UPDATE: So I put a new plug in. The initial threading was difficult to get on. Once...

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
You're probably right -- I need to have look inside the cylinder. Not sure if any metal or ceramic substance went in. I'm going to drop it a my marina and have them take a look just to be sure.

I think we're on to something here. We should put some engineering plans together!

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
I'm surprised it didn't got through straight through the hull and into the lake -- It was a pretty nasty sound when it blew out.

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
Haha! Don't really want the torch but will take it. I'm getting it off the lake this week. Crossing fingers that no damage has occurred in the cylinder. Could be a big job to repair if that's the case. I still don't get why the plug blew out that way. The only thing I can think of is that the plug w...

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
Hopefully that's all it will need. The plug was pretty much disintegrated. Hope none of it went into the cylinder. That might mean bigger problems.Big Block Power wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 8:03 pm Well they will Prob put a heli coil in it and you will be back in action.

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
Nice pic. 👍🏻 There is no distributor cap. Coil packs on each cylinder. We had a bad plug and a bad coil pack with similar symptoms that yours exhibits. Replaced plugs and the pack and good to go. The tech can shut down each pack with computer to diagnose the bad one. Let’s get you fixed. UPDATE!! C...

Mine we pre-gapped as well -- I bought mine from a Volvo "certified" marine outfit. Are AC Delco's not recommended for a Volvo engine?Big Block Power wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 7:33 pm They are pregapped. You try to gap them you wreck the plug Instantly.
Sorry AC plug in a gm engine. Just me. Volvo wants a champion. Um nope.

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
. There is also a slight smell of gas in the boat which is odd. Chris Reminds me of the time I was driving my SUV and my wife smelled gas. She started to worry and got mad at me for not being worried. I finally reminded her that we were driving a diesel. Yes, precisely why I'm divorced

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
I'll send you the plug part number on the weekend when I get to my Summer place - I think they were AC Delco Platinum Plugs.

Re: Brief Power Loss at Full Speed
Interesting -- thanks for the info. That is a lot of work! Hopefully, your boat will run well after going through all that maintenance. I'll keep monitoring over the Summer. The Fall will be bellows, gimbal bearing and power steering maintenance (I've got a small leak that I can't find).
