Re: Opinions on 2004 240

We will hit Lake Geneva and also several of the other lakes around home. The appeal of the 240 is the overall size and definitely the head. The wife and I have four kids so having the head on the boat will save the emergency runs to shore for the kids to use a restroom. Being that we’re already a f...

Re: Opinions on 2004 240

I’d love to come up north and check out Lake Winnebago. I’ve driven by it several times but never put a boat on it. We used to have an older Supra inboard that we used a lot. Right now I’m boroowing a buddy’s 20’ bayliner, but it’s a bit small for us and I’m not a huge fan of outboards, I like havin...

Re: Opinions on 2004 240

Yes if it's a 5.7gxi. Still the 6.2 will out perform it. I really liked the 5.7gxi in the 220 but a 240 is a different bird. Just drop down to a 222 it's in your Price range too :-) the 222 is pretty much a 232. Are you boating on lake Geneva? Why are you choosing a 240? The 232 is a great boat as ...

Re: Opinions on 2004 240

Anyone have any opinions on how the hole shot is on these size boats? I haven’t had the opportunity to drive one myself yet and it’s something I thought of today. We are definitely looking to do some skiing and wake boarding with as many as 6-8 people onboard. Will a 240 with a 5.7 or 6.2 get up an...

Re: Opinions on 2004 240

I sent the local cobalt dealer an email with the hull ID number and asked if they had any info on it. I got a response saying they checked the records and found no recalls or warranty work performed and they also sent me the original build sheet on the boat with the options installed. Pretty quick ...

Re: Opinions on 2004 240

Thank you all for the opinions and information. I’m new to looking at Cobalt boats myself but definitely familiar with seeing them on the water. One thing that’s definitely already impressed me is the customer service from one of the dealers local to where that boat is. I sent the local cobalt deale...

Re: Opinions on 2004 240

Aslan, thanks for the reply. Overall I’d say I’m pretty interested if I can work the price right with the dealer. That’s another thing I’d like someone’s opinion on, is what kind of value do these boats hold? Dealer is asking a bit much in my opinion, so I’ll have to see if there’s some room there. ...

Opinions on 2004 240

I’m looking at a potential purchase on a 2004 240 with the 6.2 and bravo 3. Wondering if any current or former owners of this style boat could give me any pointers on ownership or potential problems to look for. Boat will be used primarily on local lakes as a family boat. Will be trailered all the t...
