Re: Trailer Brakes

I had the EOH installed last year on my tandem trailer and they are definitely the way to go!! They are a bit pricey but a must have if you trailer a lot like I do.

Re: Fold Down Swim Step

I had a void show-up in my 2013 273 swimstep. Mine was not covered by warranty but I was past 5 years on the boat so that might have made a difference. The price to have the dealer replace it was about $500-800 (back in 2018). I ended up fixing it myself (mostly because it was summer and I didn't w...

Re: Hull Air Vent?

Really? Lol

Does anyone else have some sort of “paper” on the inside of it? Wondering if past owner put it in there.

Re: Hull Air Vent?

I think everyone’s boat has it. Look at the forum pic at the top of the page, it’s right there just aft of the docking light.

Fold Down Swim Step

Anyone with the fold down swim step have any issues with it splitting/cracking? Mine has a small crack going lengthwise down the side. I need to throw some sealant on it before it takes on to much water. I'm sure those aren't cheap to replace.

Hull Air Vent?

1st question - What is the purpose of that air vent up on the bow, outboard starboard side?

2nd question - What is the "paper" that goes on the inside of that vent? Mine has torn open and the guy at West Marine looked at me like I was retarded when I asked him about it.

Hope it works out. It'll be nice having another SD on the forum.

Re: Towing with Mooring Cover

I tow all the time with the same mooring cover you're talking about without any issues. As long as the ratchet straps are nice and tight it won't move. I did read somewhere that they don't recommend going faster than 75 on the highway.

Re: RPM issue

So according to Cobalt, it looks to be like a bad digital gauge on the dash that is throwing the fault code. Yea that's awesome and shuts down your engine. I like my dumb guages. The good thing is it doesn't shut the engine down, it just beeps at me above 3k rpm. As long as I stay below 30mph right...

Re: 26SD...should I steer clear?

I also have a 24SD and love the layout. The bow is very roomy and I love that you can access the boat from the rear swim platform or the ladder from the bow. You will rarely see another SD on the water and I like that, they're different looking than the traditional hulls.

Re: Box Anchor

I use the Fortress FX-11 fluke anchor for sand and mud. It only weighs 7lbs and holds like a monster for my 25'. Easy to bring up and easy to clean off. It is expensive though and made out of aluminum so no rust. However most of you are freshwater so that isn't a concern.

Re: Alarm Volume

I agree, that alarm is glass shattering. Especially when you're at the ramp and everyone looks to see what that beeping is when you fire her up.
