Re: Flip down swim step

The same thing happened to me. I cut out a little of the foam and and insterted some 1x2's. I then used 3m 4200 on the edges, stainless steel mounting points and on the wood. It has held up for a year so far. If I did it again, I might use 5200 instead.

Re: Cobalt flip down swim platform replacement

It split top from bottom. The inside of step is foam and stainless steel structures for the bolts. I used the marine jb weld. I used it on the outer fiberglass shell and where the stainlessness steel touched the fiberglass. It held up for one week before starting to split. It now fills with water an...

Cobalt flip down swim platform replacement

I have a 276 and my flip down swim platform split down the middle. I tried to use JB weld to make it one solid piece but that only lasted one week on the water. Does anyone know where I can either get a replacemt or have any good ideas on how to repair it? All the hardware is still there. I now have...

Re: Replacement piece of seagrass carpet

I have the factory bow and cockpit cover for the boat. I've seen some people say never travel with them on because it will damage your boat or possibly fly off and others say to do it. Is it pretty much most people's thought to travel with it on? That would definitely keep my carpet from flying out.

Re: Replacement piece of seagrass carpet

This is my first boat with snap in carpet. I am guessing it is a bad idea to trailer with it in? Do i need to remove it every time I trailer or did I just have some bad snaps?

Re: Replacement piece of seagrass carpet

We retraced our drive 3 times and no luck. It's only a 15 minute drive. I was shocked we couldn't find it.

Replacement piece of seagrass carpet

I was pulling my new to me 276 in high winds back from the lake yesterday. When I got home I realized that a piece of snap in carpet blew out. It is the piece just in front of the engine compartment. All the carpet in the boat is in great condition. Is there anywhere I can order a replacement carpet...

Re: Buying 2012 276... help

I wanted to give a little update on the boat! I was worried the overheating of the motor was due to the manifolds. And these manifolds are almost $4000 each. I have the catalyzed manifolds. I took them off and they have almost no rust. I took them to a local Volvo shop and they said as long as I kee...

Re: Buying 2012 276... help

Well I did end up purchasing it. I pick it up on Saturday! I am excited and nervous. We found that the overheating was due to an impeller. Now it is time to get her all shiny and take a closer look at that engine. At that price it was too beautiful to pass up. I will post pictures when I get her home.

Re: Buying 2012 276... help

I do most of the work myself on my current boat. I was unaware that a salt water boat was such a problem. I thought that if you change out the manifolds and risers that would take care of the majority of the problems. But that is why I'm here ... To learn. If it helps, the comparable boats sold were...

Re: Buying 2012 276... help

This is a salt water boat. It is in the Chesapeake Bay. I plan on using it as a fresh water boat. The boat was a covered lift kept boat. The boat itself has very little corrosion execpt for a few chain links on the windless. The surveyor did not seem too worried about the salt water if I were to cha...

Buying 2012 276... help

I am looking at a 2012 276 with 101 hours. I had my surveyor take it out. It ran 50 mph at 5000 rpm. So good so far. After 10 minutes of running the boat, it went into limp mode. It had overheated. Our guess is that the impeller needs replaced. The surveyor also said the manifolds and risers need re...
