Re: R6 Surf Trailer
What's the difference between the 2 trailers or boat hulls? Can you not move / extend the bunk boards or bow stop to make the R6 trailer work correctly? Good luck with your sale. Post it up on the for sale section. There’s quite a bit of difference. Theres just enough difference with an R6 surf and...

Re: R5 Swim platform/Gator Step
I saw your post on the FB group as well, but I'll reply here. I'm surprised you put anything between the swim step and where it rests when folded in. I don't think there is much room at all on mine, and I know it would not sit flush, as you say yours does not. You ask about going with a single layer...

Re: Boats in driveways
That's some good artwork!
I'm guessing if you live in a place that dictates you can't have your boat in your driveway, it's probably the same kind of place that dictates what color/shade you can have on your fence as well.
Not a place I'd want to live in.

Re: Marine versus Teak Oil
". . . absorb at a different rate." That's my guess. I should have taken the teak down to bare wood, then applied the Marine. "Cat walking on the finished product?" Interesting theory -- though no cat-paw evidence on the wood or cats tracking Marine everywhere. Yea, that was par...

Nice, so what's this going to allow you to do? Monitor any engine parameters live?

Re: 2021 VP 380 oil Weight
My VP 380 (6.0 L version, 2014) calls for 10w-40.
the "40" # is the most important number, as jhnmdahl said above.

Re: Marine versus Teak Oil
Cat walking on the finished product? Or did something get on the teak after sanding, but before the finishing product, not allowing complete absorption or slower absorption?

Re: Oil Analysis
I've used Royal Purple in the Cobalt for the past 2 seasons, and will be this year as well. This is mainly bases on their reputation in the racing world, where prolonged higher RPM's are normal.

Re: Volvo Flush Connection - forgot to put cap on
Good piece of advice, billk2632. I had the alarm save me last summer. Boat full of people, loaded and pulling away from the dock. Alarm went off, and it said it was for high temperature (wasn't much above 180*). Shut her down ASAP, and found I needed a new impeller (only 20 hours on the previous, pe...

Ouch, that doesn't look good at all. Glad to hear Cobalt acknowledges it's a defect, and will be fixing it. Hopefully it's a permanent fix.

Re: Towing an R5 Arch Down
A couple things to add, although they are not directly answering the question asked about IF you can tow with the arch down. When I picked up our 242 in Austin (drove 12+ hours home to Topeka) I started with the arch down. First stop for gas, I noticed it was up again, so it slammed up during the dr...

Re: Trim Switch
Is this the switch located on the throttle control, or on the transom? If the transom, I'd pull the switch, and order that part number or cross reference it. It should be a pretty simple job.

Re: Head Operation Help
One more tip that I'd recommend, in addition to what billk2632 said, would be to make sure you never leave the holding tank completely empty, unless it is the last trip of the season. What I do for our RV tank is after I've emptied at the dump site, put in a RV toilet porta pack (found easily at Wal...
