Re: Anchor for 220BR

I've had okay results with my fluke in the past. I had 10' of chain on a 15lb fluke anchor for our 242. Most times, it held pretty well, as long as I had 2x to 3x the rode out as the depth we were anchored in. Last year, Labor Day weekend, the fluke held too well, and I lost it. Just got a new ancho...

Re: Trailer tires

I got rid of my Tow Max tires after 2 years, because they both blew up. Two years old, one went out 5 days before the other. Unfortunately, we were on vacation, and that's what I had to replace them with as well. Then sold the boat a year later. I won't own those anymore after 2 years, period. I rep...

Re: Thoughts on R5 EVC error w/odd engine behavior

I agree, the seawater pump s/b checked. It could definitely cause the exhaust temp to be hot. And that temp is HOT. However I don't know that the seawater pump not cooling the exhaust would cause the engine running issues you're getting. A lean fuel condition will cause the running issues, and the h...

Re: 7.4 Gi Dies shifting into gear

Craig O, did you ever get this figured out? It sounds like a fuel issue to me (too lean) When engine is cold, it is going to choke the engine, giving it less air (more fuel) and RPM will jump a bit. It's already higher on the RPM band, and will be quicker to respond when given more throttle. I don't...

Re: No Oil Pressure(?)

Not sure what happened to your first rebuild, and doubtful any one of us will, since it wasn't disassembled by your local shop. With the latest rebuild crapping out too, it makes me wonder if it's a rebuilt parts quality issue. Not quite the same, but similar, in that I know a lot of hobby or home e...

Re: Dock-4, Cobalt-0

Wow, that stinks.
I've been there before as well. Luckily, not on this boat, but with my Rinker. Those things are no fun when they happen for sure.

Re: How could we let this happen?

There are a lot of boat builders / boat building talent in TN - location on the TN river and distribution to the eastern US along with the business friendly nature of TN are factors. Malibu SeaRay MasterCraft to name a few of the big ones. I think those things are the biggest factors for sure. Not ...

Short towing experience

A little back story... Ever since I've gotten my old truck "Daisy Ray" back on the road, I've wanted to tow the Nauti Weasel with it in some way. Aspirations were to tow it to the lake when we go camping, and have my wife follow me in my newer truck, towing the camper. However it was prett...

Re: CS22 Wakeboarding Without Tower

I will agree with everything that jwill323 stated, with only one small exception. I'd prefer, and so do my guest, to tow skiers from the tower. A tower can make it a bit easier for beginners because it is pulling you across and UP out of the water. That being said, the tow point on most boats like y...

Re: Starting Stereo/Electronics Upgrade Project

That looks like a clean setup. I like doing projects as well, and sometimes, my best ones are projects that nobody ever sees. But I know they're done correctly / clean. My wife is similar to yours in that she cares if it works, but doesn't care so much what it looks like as long as it's not in her l...

Re: R6 Surf Trailer

What's the difference between the 2 trailers or boat hulls? Can you not move / extend the bunk boards or bow stop to make the R6 trailer work correctly? Good luck with your sale. Post it up on the for sale section. There’s quite a bit of difference. Theres just enough difference with an R6 surf and...

Re: R5 Swim platform/Gator Step

I saw your post on the FB group as well, but I'll reply here. I'm surprised you put anything between the swim step and where it rests when folded in. I don't think there is much room at all on mine, and I know it would not sit flush, as you say yours does not. You ask about going with a single layer...
