Hard to tell by the angle of the picture, but (like you stated) it looks like the walk through door is in the way of where the cushion would go. Maybe that's why they never used the filler cushion.

I did this back in '17 on my 2004 220 and it was plug and play. Remotes worked as well. Changed mine to the M50BT Sony media player. Still going strong.

Ran into a "little" storm yesterday. Luckily was able to take some shelter. Then back at the Marina feeding the ducks and some fish.

Spent a few days on Lake Travis. After taking a picture of this awesome Sunset on Monday, I ran down and had my wife take a picture of me driving the boat with what was left of the sunset. Pictures were too good not to share.

Got out for the first time this season. Spent last weekend changing impeller, changing oil and gear oil, charged batteries, and ran some Seafoam in the tank and ran her in the driveway.
