Re: Salt Water for the Weekend
Wow!!! Congratulations on the journey!!! I am a new boater as well with a (new to us) 2019 CS22. We’re in Seattle on Lake Washington at a Marina south of Leschi. I’m still nervous about making my way in and out of our small marina - I can’t believe you went through the locks and into the sound. Hol...

Re: Salt Water for the Weekend
Good deal! Pictures or it didn't happen! I know you've been asking a lot of questions about your new boat and even stressing a little - a trip like this is what puts all that behind you so you start really enjoying what having a boat is all about. I remember years ago when I first got the SeaRay 29...

Re: Salt Water for the Weekend
I can report it was an epic and relatively peaceful journey through the locks and on the Sound today from Seattle up to Port Ludlow. Even though the forecast said “wind waves 1 ft” I can say it was all of that and more, especially rounding the point in Admiralty Inlet West of Whidbey Island. I perso...

Re: Salt Water for the Weekend
Wind/Current I suggest this article: https://www.boatus.org/study-guide/planning/weather, especially this section: "Wind and Current" If it were me, new to such conditions, I'd practice before the trip. Thanks Kate. Great article. I had actually read that same one last night before postin...

Re: Salt Water for the Weekend
Maybe someone wouldn't mind helping me forecast if this is a safe journey i'm planning. We have a resort booked on the water in a nice port town 30 miles north of Seattle. Considering its open bow, and really not a big water/salt water boat, I really only want to take the boat up there if I am cert...

Re: Salt Water for the Weekend
Millions of boats run in salt every single day. When you get back into fresh water the engine will flush itself or you can flush it with a hose. Keep the boat wiped down during your trip and give it a real good bath when you get home. Enjoy your trip! Good to know the engine will flush itself. Than...

Salt Water for the Weekend
Hi guys, 2023 CS22. 3rd time out will be this weekend and I'm planning to take her from my Rack n Stack in Seattle through the locks into Puget Sound, and park at a marina for the weekend at a resort we are booked at. So I'm looking at 48 hours in the salt with my new boat. (Is 48 hours a long time ...

Re: Shifter too loose. How to tighten??
Thanks all, I have looked in the manual and there is 'some' content about the Friction Break for the throttle lever, but doesn't go into any detail as to how to do it or get to it. So, the experiment will begin soon. Hi Bill, did you get into this project and if so how did it go? I think I have the...

Re: CS22 in Rough Water
We have a CS22 on a large lake in Georgia. Optioned with 280 V6. She does fine in chop. Some weekends when the big cruisers are out I have to dig the stern in off plane with speed and trim to knock through sometimes 3/4 footers in their wakes, but it handles it all and we never get so much as spray...

Re: Trim not responding on plane
Just realized your boat is a 2023 - still in warranty I assume. In that case I would only try the bleeding which is really running the trim up/down about 10 times. Past that I would let the dealer handle it as warranty. Thanks. Dumb question. Would running it up and down that many times drain the b...

Re: Trim not responding on plane
Does the trim work when you are not on plane? I think first I would check the fluid level and bleed the system -- bleeding is easy just run the trim up/down @10 times, system is self bleeding. I had similar issues with my R5 when I first bought it - topping off the fluid and bleeding resolved it. A...

Trim not responding on plane
I took my 23 CS22 out last night (second time ever, woo!). Kind of a big issue occurred where I couldn't get responsiveness out of the engine trim control while on plane. I would throttle down with trim all the way down, then get on plane, try to adjust the trim up a bit, and nothing. If I held the ...

Re: Trim Tabs
I'm not sure that the Nauticus tabs, which seem to "retract" on their own once moving, will work as well as adjustable trim tabs when underway in choppy water. The whole "shock absorber" concept seems interesting though, and I've heard they can be significant step up over no tri...
