Re: 2024 Winter Pictures
A beauty of a sunrise this morning and a couple of diving ducks were enjoying our lake as a resting spot on their journey farther north. I love it when the days get longer and we are less than a month away from those 8:30pm or later sunsets.

Re: 2024 Winter Pictures
Very cool pic. I never get tired of seeing bald eagles or other birds of prey in the wild.

Re: 2024 Winter Pictures
After our warmest winter ever, the lake ice went out March 17th. The average for ice out on our lake is April 19th and the previous record was March 26th. It’s great for all the lake home owners as the dock and boat lift installers now have time to do their installs before the Memorial Day Holiday w...

Re: Cost comparison using Gas Consumption
I wonder how much of the change in Naples will revert once boomers are gone and there aren't Gen X or Millenials or whatever behind them to buy all their real estate and other stuff. Could be interesting times. Many coastal FL cities such as West Palm Beach and Naples have been expensive for decade...

Re: Cost comparison using Gas Consumption
Funny, hanging with my cousin in Naples after testing the 323 in Daytona Beach yesterday. Have family here, I just haven’t been down here in 10 years. Sure doesn’t feel like a quaint little town any more. How was the 323?? It’s changed for sure. We started vacationing here more than 20 years ago an...

Re: Cost comparison using Gas Consumption
There are LOTS of Formulas down here in Naples to drool over, including this one 150 yards from my boat slip. I’m sure you’re going to love that 323! Re: Cost comparison using Gas Consumption
Good looking boat, looks like lots of run in the bow. There are lots of great options out there so it’s worth looking at more than one brand. If your boating needs include sleeping quarters up front in that 32-35 foot range I still think a Cobalt is one of the best options. For the ocean or very la...

Re: Cost comparison using Gas Consumption
Off topic: I haven’t had much time on 30-40 foot Cobalts but I’ve been on quite a few larger ocean boats that size the last 2 years including ones from TIara, Grady White, Formula, and Boston Whaler. If I’m shopping in that 32-38 foot range for use on one of the Great Lakes or another large body of...

Re: Cost comparison using Gas Consumption
I did a quick search and found these performance charts for an R5 and an R33 with twin Volvo 380’s. I didn’t find any performance data on the 323 with twin 8.1 400’s but they will likely burn a bit more fuel than the twin 380’s. At 34 mph the R5 is at 2.82 and the R33 is at 1.55mpg Do you think the...

Re: Cost comparison using Gas Consumption
I'm looking to move from a 2014 R5 (VP 380) to a 2012 323 (twin VP 8.1 400 HP) how do I compare gas consumption? I'm trying to determine cost differences between the two and this seems to be the most difficult to quantify. I recognize there will be an increase in cost, but how could I compare (with...

Re: Arc electric wake boat
Electrify American charges about 48 cents/kwh nationwide, and I'm sure it's more like 60 cents in California. I have a house in Lake Tahoe in California. My electricity cost is $0.28/KWH. Not sure what it is around the lake though. If it's PG&E it's running around $0.40/KWH EDIT: Looking at PG&...

Re: Arc electric wake boat
Electrify American charges about 48 cents/kwh nationwide, and I'm sure it's more like 60 cents in California. Assuming that the on-the-water charging is no more than that, the 22-foot Nautique would cost about $80 to fill up for that 2-hour run time. I don't see much fuel savings over an ICE-powered...
