What is this?
I own a 2018 R5, and this hose with what looks like a breather on the end is in the storage under the helm. Looks like a vent of some type? But not sure? Can someone tell me what this is?
Unfortunately, I can't post a picture because of the picture extension on my iphone.
Thanks

Re: R5 with 8.2l Merc
I have a 2018 R5 with the 8.2 380 HP. Top Speed 55 MPH with no arch. What I love most about having the BB is that you can lope along at 3200 RPM's and be doing 35 MPH. That seems to be where the hull/engine are the most efficient. I often cruise at 3000 RPM, but will only make 31 MPH. By bumping up ...

Re: Shallow water boat lift for R5
I have a 2018 R5 and my 6500# lift works fine for my boat. You don't need a 10,000# lift.

Laying the Bimini flat for storing
I will store my boat in a warehouse from about 11/1 - 3/15. It would be easier for me to store to lay the bimini down flat. It looks like this can be done by removing a few fasteners. Anyone have any experience doing this?
Thanks

Re: Love my R5
On another note, this boat does not like a lot of trim? When I trim it up to over 4% on the gauge it porpoises. When I took these shots I had three people in the aft so just had a little trim. Not sure the trim gauge is accurate actually. When the outdrive is all the way out of the water the gauge j...

Re: Love my R5
Great story LJ and that R5 is awesome looking. Thank you for your old thread as it brought to the forum the discussion of power and how the Volvo 6.2 power these models. I know you mentioned it in that thread in which way you went, but post your findings, as a lot of R series folk who are shopping ...

Re: Love my R5
Yea mercury and Cobalt got in a little disagreement over something and that switched Cobalt to Vp. Sounds like a great boat. Did it have Captains call? How many hours were on it? I have to imagine it was a used boat. Or demo/used No did not have Captains Call, no hours were on the boat it was brand...

Re: Love my R5
I found the boat in Cleveland OH. The boat had more options on it than I would had probably ordered. Such as the head, stainless helm pad, transom shower. It came loaded sans the transom and underwater lights. The premium bimini top and the front and rear filler cushions are very useful. I did not t...
