Re: 2005 Cobalt 255/250 trim tabs, hatch actuator
If your boat is a 250 or a 255 the tab part I mentioned is correct, if your boat is a different model they will be different I am guessing.

Yes, the tabs were 6" X 12". The part number Bennett Marine will need if you order from them is 411627

Re: Installed Trim Tabs on 2005 255
bruceb58, I installed them in the exact same position as the factory did. No other place to put them. The tabs are 12" long and 6" wide with a taper down to 4" wide on the engine side of tabs. I did the installation myself. After I installed them I did see on Great Lakes Skipper the f...

I will let the forum know how well the Auto trim feature works. In talking to other people who have installed this system they are happy with it. Should be able to try it within a month.

Installed Trim Tabs on 2005 255
I recently installed trim tabs on my 255. The manufacturer I used was Lectrotab. They were very easy to get in touch with and very helpful. Every time I called them a person answered the phone and help was immediate. I chose to use the Automatic Leveling Control they offer. Wiring was straightforwar...

Re: 2012 Bolster Seat and 2006 250 Guage panels
I purchased your seat repair kit and it worked very well. Curious to see what your new switch panels look like.
Have any pictures of them?

Re: Trailer Recommendation
Clearance to top of door opening is around 3". Very nice to launch and retrieve boat with the trailer. Centers up on trailer every time when taking it out of the water. Super easy to trailer the boat. I never leave boat in the water, always trailer it. Use it almost every weekend and some week ...

Re: Trailer Recommendation
I had Loadmaster make a trailer for my 2005 Cobalt 255. It tows beautifully. It has electric brakes, 2-6000lb torsion axles, reverse lights, and a removable tongue. Boat weighs around 5000lbs with no fuel or gear. With trailers you definitely want significantly higher load capacity than load. Bearin...

Re: R5 Bimini brcket is loose
Use a screw nut and washer, wood screw will not hold for long. Through bolting is the best way.

2005 Cobalt 255/250 trim tabs, hatch actuator
I have a 2005 Cobalt 255. Does anyone here have trim tabs on the same model? (Hull is the same as a 250 one bow) Would like to add them but not sure of factory placement and if the are effective. Also would like to upgrade to electric or hydraulic hatch lift. Anyone have pictures of there's and a br...

Re: A25 trailer recommendations
If you end up going with a steel trailer Loadmaster is the way to go. My boat is a 2005 255, with a 27' overall length. Garage is 30' long exterior dimension. About 29' interior length dimension. You would need to go with a removable tongue like i did with mine. Loadmaster did a great job and it tow...

Re: Sad changes in the dealer network
I was also surprised that Ericksons is no longer a Cobalt dealer. Purchased my boat (used 2005 255) from them and they are excellent to deal with. Scott Klingsporn (my salesman was great). Had a bunch of things done in service and the work was also excellent. Boat was everything they said it was. No...

2005 496mag HO knock sensor
Just curious, does anyone know if there are 1 or 2 knock sensors on the 496mag?
Starboard side I can see one easily, not so easy on to determine on port side.
