Re: Cobalt swim step - size small

Still have this - new for 19 or 20' Cobalt. It was too small for my boat - Cobalt shipped me the incorrect part under warranty.

Cobalt bow pad for 222

Hey gents, I have a new/unused/as new starboard side bow cushion in white (tan bottom) for a Cobalt 222 (I think). The story... I ordered a bow (just below the rail) pad from Cobalt via my dealer (from winter tree damage - aka tear) for my '13 232. Cobalt shipped a pad for the starboard (drivers sid...

Economical option to the stock Cobalt fender clip

Hey Gents! I came across a economical and easy way to have similar functionality of the Cobalt fender clip option using your (not used) bimini top mounts. Accon Marine makes a 1/2" male insert (they call it a "post") which includes a stainless ring for attaching a fender rope. So, sin...

Re: Bravo 3 Reliability

Re drive shower, I went with the Simrek. Easy to install and puts the water where it's needed. I had my drive lube boil out the resivoir with a wide open run on a hot lake. It hasn't happened since the drive shower. Search on YouTube... one good video out there.

300 hours - recommended service items

Hi Gents, I just hit 300 hours on my '13 232 w/ a Merc 350 Mag MPI and a B3 drive. Note this year was the first for catalytic converters (no problems so far). I winterize, change the oil/filter and drive lube yearly myself. So far, I replaced the impeller at around 150 hours, the fuel filter around ...

'13 232 - Replacing front bow wraparound pad

Hey gents, Any trick to getting to the far away places on the bow? I am replacing the bow wraparound pad (what you rest your back on) because I had a limb pierce a plastic cover, the mooring cover and the vinyl back pad. Major bummer! Regarding access, it looks like removing the speakers will be req...

Re: Kids docking boat - opinions?

I think I would buy a little boat for the kid to learn on - like a 13' Whaler... I have noticed many lake houses for sale often throw in an old bowrider that has been on the lift for years. I would gladly let my son take out a beater - with the understanding that it was his to maintain and it wouldn...

Re: White Out (rain) - lessons learned

Thanks sailor55330 - appreciate your insight. To be perfectly honest, I did panic a bit. As my focus narrowed, I forgot the lights were on a toggle switch, not on the row of push buttons. I didn't think about the effect the bimini had with the wind - but it certainty was a lot out there. Again, I do...

Re: White Out (rain) - lessons learned

Hi AsLan7 - Great point! I meant to add life jackets to my list. I keep eight (two bags) of three snap ski style vests under the front seats - doubt they would have done much good in there if I really took on serious water. Ideally, we should have put them on, or at a minimum snapped then to the bac...

Re: White Out (rain) - lessons learned

Hey Thunder555, I appreciate the reply and support. It was a learning experience for sure. Things I would do differently... I would have my reading glasses at the ready (so I could see the dash). I would have Google Maps loaded on my phone, which would have definitely helped navigate. Lastly, I woul...

White Out (rain) - lessons learned

So Gents, I had a new and quite scary experience yesterday (Sunday) on Lake Anna in Virginia. My girlfriend and I were on the southerly (dam) end of the lake enjoying another beautiful day on the water. We had watched the skies get a bit darker after lunch, but we were only 15 minutes from the ramp,...

Re: Do you have a loose screw?

Sorry for the late reply... I'm still dealing with issues surrounding my son. To support my son with more custody, I now have 1.) guardian ad litem, 2.) custody evaluator, 3.) co-parent counselor, 4.) father/son counselor, 5.) son in counseling, and 6.) me in counseling. The only person not in couns...

Re: Do you have a loose screw?

Oops... just seeing your post. I rent a '15 Cirrus SR-20. After taking 9 months off from flying, I'll be back in the left seat tomorrow with my instructor. I'm a high time student pilot. :) This time last year I was prepping for my solo X country when my son had an issue at school that required my f...

Re: How many hours did you put on the boat this year.

I put about 40 hours on my '13 232 this year - the season got a late start due to lower than normal temps. I'm now up to around 275 hours. Not to mention I had a new ski and new girlfriend. The ski is a Yamaha GP 1800. It will hit 77.2 with a re-flash = scary but fun. But, towards the end of the sea...
