Re: Adding Underwater Lights to 2024 Cobalt R6
I don't have an 8610, but I'm curious how it would be able to change color and dimming of ambient lights. Is there a screen control that suggests it can do that? I think it can control certain marine stereos (e.g. Fusion) over a NEMA2000 network, but it looks like you might need a completely separat...

Re: R6 Surf Transom Tie Downs
Have a welder put an attach point further to the outside on your trailer Good idea. If the attachment on the trailer were on the outside of the red beam we see in the photo it might be close. I don't think I'd feel terrible about trimming back the outside edge of the trim tab just a bit if the tie-...

Re: Shifter too loose. How to tighten??
Yeah, it's part of the lever mechanism. If you can post a picture of the throttle control you have it may help people here identify which one it is and help guide you to adjusting it if you choose to do it yourself. It's most likely a screw (hex, if I remember) behind the cap covering where the thro...

Re: R6 Surf Transom Tie Downs
Looks like there was space to move that trim tab a bit to the right - not sure why the guy bolting them on didn't see what we all seem to see... It looks like the angle that the hydraulic ram is on, it is already pretty tight at the top end. It might not install correctly if the tab was moved over ...

MN, I'm regretting not taking pictures for you during our 10-day zero degree stretch last week There's fresh ice on the roads this morning - maybe I'll find something to post to make you miss home.

Re: Been awhile
Good to hear from you. I just went to the Minneapolis boat show last Wednesday. Zero degree weather, but it was fun to go with my son and my dad and pretend it was boat season for a few hours. Erickson had some nice Formula and Tiara models, and I'm always a bit surprised that Scout sells in MN but ...

Re: anyone have spy shots of the new CS series?
The thing that bugs me the most as someone with a business background is that there used to be an obvious reason for someone like me to buy or recommend a Cobalt instead of a Regal, Chaparral, or the like. I wonder if someone like Formula or Pursuit will start trying harder to fill the gap Cobalt is...

Re: Blue led accent lights
The schematic on page one shows the blue and yellow wires going between three different connectors, and doesn't show the potentiometer, power source, or bulb. I'm wondering if they are the "adjusted" voltage and not the supply voltage, since there are two more wires going into the potentio...

Re: Quick release fender hanger locations
My boat's hibernating during the below-zero weather, but I have one about even with the windscreen (I think it's even with the slanted front part), and one toward the rear pretty far back, just forward of the rear cleat. It may vary slightly by hull - you obviously don't want a bowed out portion of ...

Re: Blue led accent lights
Any idea where that connector is? It's quite likely to be behind the dash. I don't know your boat well, but there's probably a panel (or more) behind the seat in front of the dash that can be unscrewed to reveal what's going on in there. Opening the panels to get at the wiring is step one for sure,...

Re: Blue led accent lights
So I have no power going to the rheostat and all the circuit breakers in the starboard bow storage area are ok with each breaker receiving power. All the aft circuit breakers (by the Battery on off switch) are also fine. How do I go about chasing this problem. I got the wiring diagram (attached) fr...

I've got plenty, but I can't get them on here! When you're typing a reply to a thread, click on the box below the white text entry box that says "full editor & preview." That will open a new page that has the same ability to type your reply, but also has options and attachment tabs wi...

Re: Oil Analysis
Backstone is a neat service - I've done it with a car, but not with my boat. Their typical report seems to tell you that your oil is more or less what you should expect, but the occasional case where they can warn of things not quite right or impending doom combined with the relatively low cost of a...

Re: DuoProp Align / Clocking
I've heard of clocking so that the blades aren't at 12:00 at the same time, but I've never heard of anyone observing a difference with a Volvo Penta outdrive. I guess some older Mercury Bravo 3 outdrives could have more cavitation if they weren't clocked, but I've only heard anecdotal rumors of such...
