Re: Upholstery Cleaner

I use 303 multipurpose cleaner and then hit it with 303 protectant once a month. Upholstery still looks brand new.

Re: Soliciting opinions on boat

There is a powder blue cobalt with navy stripe at my marina. It looks really sharp. I saw it in person and was pleasantly surprised how nice it is in person.

Do you still have to fill the lines with the antifreeze? Or do you just leave it open and let it drip dry?

Re: V Drive vs Forward Drive

I’m sure it will be a while. VP has the FD locked up in patents. If you notice they basically modified the existing pod drive and got an additional patent out of it. Sea ray is exclusively mercruiser which is why they have a v drive surf boat instead of the forward drive. I’m going to the boat show ...

I would but I like the surfing. We are on a smaller lake here so there are some things that are not as important to me. The R5 is the largest cobalt that I could buy regardless due to the size restriction.

Re: V Drive vs Forward Drive

The marina I go to has an adult surf club Sunday mornings during the summer. Last year they used a G21 and an R5 Surf so I have a lot of hours on both for comparison. This year they’re running a GS22 and CS3 Surf. I’ll report back after I’ve ridden those too. Two of the salesmen at the marina are sp...

Re: V Drive vs Forward Drive

well I was referring to the price difference between say a cobalt R5 vs. R5 surf. The MSRP jumps 20k. Yup. I just meant that’s how they justify the increase. Same as new prices keep going up due to high prices in the used market. It’s a blast. Getting up is easy the hardest part is getting into the...

Re: V Drive vs Forward Drive

It’s comparable to the V Drives in cost. A 24-25 foot Nautique is right in line with an R5 Surf that’s how they justify it. Comes down to your priorities and how you’ll use it which pros and cons are most important.

V Drive vs Forward Drive

Interesting article and comparison. It’s about what I expected. They discussed some of the safety mechanisms in the forward drive that lessen the concern of a propeller strike that I wasn’t previously aware of.

My guy wears booties to protect the upholstery. They will definitely tear up the sea dek.

Re: February 2018 pics

A7 that car is awesome. Some gear heads can’t get over how smooth and quiet it is. My buddy traded his in because it didn’t have enough rumble for him. Ended up getting a Jeep Trackhawk haha but he’s a bit of an odd duck. Also has an Alpina and an Escalade. He even said it was a perfect car but too ...

If snow handling and hatchback are must haves I would look at the Subaru crosstrek or Impreza hatchback. I love my Subaru we get plenty of weather here and I haven’t had anything resembling an issue in 2+ years.

Re: Soliciting opinions on boat

Keep your eyes on these guys. This is my marina and they have a constant flux of used boats coming through. Last year they had 2-3 276 come in. There is one listed now but it’s best to hell from sitting in the salt. The outdrive is done. But they’re on a lake so they get lake boats more often than n...
