Towing capacity of various vehicles

Post by jhnmdahl »

This was a handy reference when we were looking for a vehicle, as it shows towing capacities of most trucks and SUVs by engine, trim package, etc.:

We ended up with a Touareg TDI, which has little difficulty pulling our 210 at around 4500 lbs.

My 2015 armada can tow 8200 lbs. My boat weighs 3700 dry + 300 tower + 150 b3 drive. Add in 500 lbs for fuel and gear. 1300 trailer so I am at approximately 6000 lbs. I am 73% of 8200 before people and gear in truck. This is 2000 lbs more than my last boat and I could feel it while towing from VA to Oh. But the armada towed it really well. Glad I upgraded vehicular as I prepared for buying 220s

I just find it funny whay people tow with. Remember it still had to stop.lol
I know how my old suburban pulled my 200 & 220's with a 5.3 in it. I also know how my Escalade with the 6.2 pulls and this boat works it. It does a great job no issues but I know it's behind me. I couldn't See pulling some of these boats with anything smaller. I wish I had a larger vehicle and a diesel to pull the toys with. They are so nice.

When I had a 5th wheel a few years ago, i was looking at diesels. I needed a single rear wheel 3500 HD diesel. Nearly had a heart attack when I looked at the sticker price. They're nice but boy!

Oh that's no doubt there.I see the window stickers every day and still shocked. Nothing is cheap anymore. Like I said before it's funny paying even $30k + for a 13 year old used boat.lol
I thought $10k was allot a few years ago.lol

Or a Honda. I actually watched this drive off a farm we sold last summer at auction. Had to get a picture of it! This is a squeeze gate for working cattle.

Actually, if there is one person who could cram a big block into a smart car or boat, I'm betting on you my friend.
