Boat ramp launching etiquette

Post by AsLan7 »

This topic was discussed briefly under the "trailer loading a R5" thread:

http://www.cobaltchat.com/viewtopic.php ... =boat+ramp

and also with John's great list under:

http://www.cobaltchat.com/viewtopic.php ... =ramp#p127

However, I ran across this youTube vid which gives the basics of boat ramp etiquette. Thought it may deserve a refresh with a title thread bump as others join the forum. Some great basic info (even if it is a jet boat in the demo :D )

I just honk my horn, yell out a threatening profanity while Mrs. T fires off a few rounds from her sawed off shot gun, toss out a grenade or two at the toll booth..and magically, everyone lets me ahead of them to launch.

Sometimes, the subtle hints of guns and grenades don’t work...so, you just gotta dock quietly🤣🤣

Using your flat bed to launch your already water logged boat & broken axle trailer may be breaching boat ramp etiquette....but using your interior LED lights near the end to highlight yourself (in case anyone missed seeing you) is greatly appreciated.

I’ve probably watched every video out there as I had never put a power boat on a trailer when we first got the old boat. Now the theory behind it is good but ever notice that the ramp is always perfect, it’s deserted, the dock is empty and it’s dead calm?

I’ve never seen that ramp in my life
