Roger that AJC---I like it--Wi_ _ _ r. :D

Btw, I like the bigger size oil extractors. With 8 + 1 (filter) quarts to extract, I can just about get it all in one shot.

jhnmdahl wrote: Mon Sep 25, 2017 10:11 am Aslan, I've wondered if an Eaton TVS supercharger would be a good fit for a boat like a Cobalt that runs on a gas engine. I suspect in another 5-10 years we'll start to see more of them as manufacturers try to bring weight down and boost efficiency, much like what's going on in cars now.

I still can't believe sometimes we tow our boat with a 180 cu. in. (3L) engine in our Tourareg...

Damnit I am so mad. When did mercury change their oil extractor system from the one you put down dip stick to the one you screw on to dip stick?

Obviously I purchased wrong system

I'm sorry to hear that AJc. The Moeller system I use works slides down or screws onto both the Volvo and the Merc dipsticks.

With which oil did you decide?
I'm very happy with the 5 quart bottle, $22 Mobil 1 full synthetic 15W-50 on sale at Walmart and the $9 OEM Merc oil filter. $55 oil & filter change out the door. 8-)

Aj I just cut a washer hose in half for the screw on type. Works great. Then you can put your tube in the inside of it. Works great.

I just bought a new 12v pump to try.I always had the vacuum pump one also. I figure for under $20 with a try. It had ok reviews on it.
So BB how did you like the cheap $20 oil extractor?

I loce it. Ive used it like 3 times. I use a washer hose with one end cut off to go onto the dipstick tube and 3 minutes later the oil is drained.

Great news B.B. I didn’t see a brand on your post. Can you tell me the brand and/or where to buy one? Also, a post of your adapter washing machine hose would be helpful. 🙃

Here it is on ebay.
Go to any menards or depot for the washer hose. Just cut it in half and you have 2 for the price of 1 and use the other one when the first one gets gross from oil. I just let it hang and drain no issues.

BB. Thanks. Just bought the pump. Yes, I know what a washing machine hose looks like. Lol. I meant a pic of how you modified it? What connector did you use to tie it in?

You put the cut off end on the pump with a hose clamp and the other end on the dipstick. Then I think they have hose with it that goes in a gallon jug for the waste oil.

So you just use the freshly cut end of the washer hose with a clamp on the pump side and the threaded end screws on the dipstick side?
