.
I hand rubbed the hull before storing and I now have a popeye arm from all the "wax on..wax off" movement. It was worth it but still not as good as a professional buffer can accomplish.

Here is a half way done shot working backward (from bow to transom) showing my "elbow grease" accomplishment. Way too much work.

The pains of having a Big boat lol. For 10 years I waxed NautiGirl 1.0 myself no problem. With 2.0 I'm bringing Mr.Nauti to help me out...4 more feet to do this year!

That's awesome that you partake in the buffing activities with your hubby, Nauti. Certainly makes it easier to manage the oxidation. 8-)

Waxing I'll do by hand. Buffing I'm just plain tired of it.

Totally agree, BBp . I'm going to ask the honey for a forced action buffer for Christmas.

Adam's Polishes has a nice long throw (21mm) "swirl killer" polisher on the market. Ytmsn picked up the mini (15mm) as well.

For anyone interested, Flex just came out with the cordless dual action forced polisher which will be on the market in March of 2018. Comes with 2 lithium ion batteries which last 40 minutes each and take 10 minutes to charge. Interesting...

I believe these are more suited for cars with thin paint. Boats have thicker gel coat and can handle something tougher like a Dewalt buffer with variable speed control. The product, pad and technique is more important.

Ah yes but the swirls in dark gelcoat are always an issue! That's why I love my adams mini and plan on working a deal on a big one next week in West Palm Beach. These things are swirl killers!

Yt I might have you pick me one out. I would get a larger one though. I'll have to read up on them.

Sure! If you want one at my discount I'll buy it and have it shipped directly to you. In Scottsdale it seems like they qouted me just over $300.

I used my small one on the arch the other day and was big time impressed.

The polish product, foam pad, technique speed, temp has a lot to do with the swirl marks or removing them.

Using the dewalt with the white foam pad at 1200 rpm works great. Using a polisher and detail spray.

I guess I'll let you know how mine turns out this summer.
I'll be using the dual action forced polisher on our 263 with a navy hull.
