BB, I am going to try to clean the grime off. Unsure if you can get that speaker out the way it is installed without removing that whole piece around it. That is a huge U shape piece.
Can definitely remove the screws but still doubt that speaker with grill will pull through that hole
No but can the speaker drop straight down and come out? Is there any way to get at it from a storage area around there. I can't see the surrounding area to help you.
I honestly can't believe they actually did that.

That cushion below it comes up. I have no clue if it is open to get to that though. I'll be checking this weekend.
If I don't put the cobalt covers back, then it will leave three screw holes exposed on each side
If that cushion comes out then you will be ok it will come out through there. Call Dr. VINYL They can fix those holes. At least my guy could.

BB, your guy does good work. Too bad I had to undo his work.

That was funny. I had him cover up three mounting holes under the dash and B goes and mounts a chart plotter in the same spot. That was $50 of profit gone.lol

You're right BB, those speakers drop out behind the panel with access up from the bottom through the seat. Clean off your existing covers and recover them like Matt did. Clean the vinyl on the surrounding mount, install new speakers, put the newly recovered grills on and you're good to go.

Pulled them today and looked them over. Then bought some new wet sounds to install. Going to install them and not put the cobalt cover back on. I think it will look ok.
Side note, think I'll be going with a new wet sounds head unit also. Trying hard to find somewhere cool to mount it other than the glove box

Very cool get a amp. They need power to push them. I ran all 4 in the cockpit off the amp and they sound great. The bow off the head and they just don't sound right without the power.

I have 6- Revo6 coax speakers running on a HTX-6 amp. 10 inch revo sub and a pair of Rev8 tower speakers bridged in a second HTX-6 amp. The sound is phenomenal. As long as I have had it I think I’ve only turned it up over 40% output twice. The sound is so clear I have no complaints at all. I had an issue with the sub that they covered under warranty and sent me a new replacement without any issues. Let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.
The speakers are so powerful if you don’t have enough power behind them you can run into issues if the kids crank them up too much.
So .. side note. Where did you run your cables for the RGB lights? I was considering running mine all the way to the front and tieing them into one of the spare switches that I have on the console. Then I can control turning the light on and off. It is that or I guess just tie it into the curtesy lights.
I think i am going to add the wet sounds head unit .. so i had thought about puling all the wires back to the glovebox.
side note to the side note .. i can't for the life of me find a good spot to mount the wet sounds head unit.

The glove box seems like a good place (tongue in cheek)
Seriously, I would put it somewhere out of sight or someplace that can be locked.
That may be my only option but i hate having the water proof stereo inside the glove box. Seems silly to me. I don't think pulling all the cables for the LED lights will be an issue.
On Thursday nights we'll park at a marina after it's closed and walk up to a Cabana for music, beer and tacos. Other boats are parked there too but I still always worry because sometimes were there pretty late. I'm glad I can lock the glove box and at least slow someone down that maybe pilfering.

Ok I tied mine into the courtesy light switch. It's nice and easy. You can add it to a extra switch if you want on your dash. I put the controller under the helm for ease of the Bluetooth and wiring. I ran the rgb from the rear port side to the bow to the rear starboard side. It was kind of easy but a pain at the same time. Lots of fiberglass in my arms and hands. I also ran new speaker wire at the same time. Having a partner help you run it helps a bunch. I would put the head unit in the glove box also or behind the bow rear seat back compartment. I personally would want to be able to get at it easy for the controls. I'm sure you can use your phone for most of it though? I guess I don't worry about thieves. Shame on me I guess.Heck take the boat the keys are in there too. I never think of locking it up. I lock my boards up instead with a bike cable lock.

I am not worried about locking it up. The new wet tunes unit isn't a normal unit. They would have to be in my boat with a screw driver taking it out like an amp and if they are going to do that then they would have gotten anything they wanted.
I have not considered replacing the speaker wire, i assumed the factory wiring would be just fine.
