Driller Man I had a chance to buy/steal a home on Travis when Travis was like 80 feet low and some said it would take a decade to fill. Boy that prediction was wrong.

Table Rockin wrote: Fri Feb 16, 2018 1:58 pm I took my boat up the Mississippi/IL rivers in fall 2016. It was a adult only booze cruise kinda thing. It was kinda cool heading up the river seeing sights ive really never seen or at least paid attention to. No way id take my kids swimming or watersports there. Whatever the doohicky is that measures speed on the lower unit got clogged with debris. Table Rock is much more satisfying tgrace as im sure you know.
oh yeah no doubt! I loved how close boating on the Mississippi was but no way would I ever swim or do any sort of water sports in it. To much stuff floating in the water. Plus even in the main channel you never knew when you would hit a sand bar. Actually why I ended up selling the Baja. I sucked up a ton of sand one time and about popped the motor. After that I said I wasn't owning a boat again until I had a place at Table rock. well 18 months later here I am :D
This the same reason why we don't boat on the Ohio River...

Good pictures y'all! Here one of my favorites. It's my fireplace and candles (tiki's) with the lake in the background, taken in early spring.

I agree TR. We've spent many hours at the fire. Alone, my wife and I, sitting with my kids or friends and family, large groups of friends all hanging out.. all while overlooking the lake. Lots and lots of good memories.

This is what I call our Grillzebo complete with a sign my Dad made me that says "Welcome! This is where friends gather. Many have eaten here, few have died"

Not summer, but a shot outside of our living room window this morning.
Yes, there is life out there!

Sad to say but without another water source you are correct. Still wouldn't keep me from buying a place if I get another chance?

Not at all, there will always be another tropical storm or deluge come thru and fill the lake back up. Hurry though, it is hard to imagine how fast the area is growing. Austin-Round Rock was +2 million people in 2014, and they say there is a net 100 people/day moving into the area. Not a lot of lake front property left (at a reasonable price).
