Beautiful sled, congrats!

The booties work wonders. Saves the upholstery and the gel coat.

Every time I have bought a new Cobalt I am simply amazed that they continue to get better. So many new additions on the 2018. Attaching some pictures. And welcome to the Cobalt Chat forum officially, 2018R7surf. So glad you found us my friend. Those pics look delicious too. Love the dog paws.

I'll be very curious to hear how you like the forward facing outdrive; ride, handling, practicality in shallow waters & at boat ramps, etc. It's a very interesting concept. Wake surfing is certainly all the rage right now so you'll have to post many pics come summer time.

Once again, congrats on your new baby and welcome aboard!

Thank you. I am very curious to see how the forward drive handles. Prob most concerned about getting it into the lake on a shallow launch we have st our marina. I will absolutely post some info in April. Thank you.

I would use a dingy. I think the water might be 3 feet deep max at the end of the trailer. Prob a 5 ft hole where my prob wash is then back to 3ft.

When spring hits and your adrenaline levels are maxing out, I would be very careful with the forward drive. Consider everything we know is backwards. If you accidentally “raise’ the outdrive as we normally would in shallow water, you are actually lowering the prop.

I don’t see a problem trailer loading. The forward prop on a decent ramp should be up and safe between the trailer rails when giving the boat that final push up the bunks.

Tuscany, thanks for info. I had no idea everything would be backwards. I am sure they will go over all of this when I take delivery but that is going to be extremely hard to get used to. It will be like learning to throw a baseball with my left arm. I am actually very worried about this. At least it’s under the boat and can’t hurt anyone if I accidentally do something backwards.

I may actually drop in at another marina with a deeper launch and drive the boat to our marina because we aren’t waiting to put this sucker in the water until June (when water is all the way up :)). The good news is we have a lift - only have to do it one time a year. Thanks again. Jk.

I love BB response to launching.. I kept thinking autocorrect.. but then I pictured a crew of people on a Dinghy watching the boat slowly come down the ramp..

Sorry.. little hangover...
