Welcome from Oklahoma! Thats a good looking boat and super clear water. What lake is that?

Thunder hit a lot of good points. There's so much good info on this site I recommend you settle in and read as much as you can when time allows, and you'll learn a lot. Don't just read and lurk though! Join in on the conversation, ask questions, and soon you'll understand some of our quirks. (We have lots of them. BB for example)

Welcome ajaVT, I use 4 x 8” Taylor’s on the fender clips. I also carry 3 x 6” spares.
+1 on the digger anchor.
6 x 15’ x 3/8” mooring lines onboard.
Small tool box with the usual goodies.
Emergency life vest for all onboard, and an assortment of ski vest for water sports.
First Aid kit
Jumper battery pack
Spot light (battery powered)
Fire extinguisher

Maybe a few more items.

Aja - Welcome from lovely western NY. Very nice setup there. Going to have to see more pics. What lake is that?

I also love to sail. Are you a Steely Dan fan?

Beer
Cooler for beer
Extra beer
Safety gear, like a coolly cup for the beer in case its bottled and you drop it.

I must say I've always been interested in sailing....I'd probably tire of it due to the amount of work involved but it still is appealing to me on some level.

Oh....and welcome aboard!

You can't get tired of sailing. It's impossible.

You can be tired WHILE sailing however...

Bet me. Just try it sometime without putting the plug in the boat and you'll get tired of it pretty damn quick!

No you just got tired from paddling and bailing. If you weren't wasting your time flopping all around it and just the sailed the f'er I'm sure you would've had a pleasant afternoon.

 . Promise you'll try again this summer. On a day with a decent but mild breeze.

Oh and bring a plug this time.

Oh I am. A couple guys here that sail have all said we're going to take it out again this spring. I think it will become a community boat.

Hey All, Thanks for the warm welcome and nice responses. The photos are taken on Lake Winnipesaukee where I picked her up but will be used primarily on Lake Champlain and occasionally on trips to Lake George and other area spots. As for the "aja" name, we like Steeley Dan but that is actually the name of our [former] sailboat which came from boats my wife and I knew before we met. It's a great name because it often starts good conversations! We are in a thaw today so are suddenly realizing winter will lose it's grip on the area before long so I can't wait for my wife to actually see the boat uncovered and afloat! Thanks again to everyone for your kind words and I look forward to picking up more knowledge as the season approaches.
