Embedded images/videos

Post by jhnmdahl »

Images can be linked from another hosting site, or if they don't exceed 512k (changed from 256k) can be uploaded directly here (see below post for more details). Most image editing programs should allow you to "save as" to save an image as a jpeg, scaled to an appropriate size for a web forum (e.g. no dimension over 1000 pixels) and use appropriate compression such as jpeg to be well within the 512k limit.

Videos can be uploaded and linked to youtube by putting the text "" in the post, where "Identifier" is replaced by the identifier portion only of the Youtube link. For example, the links https://youtu.be/tWz0a6w7BT0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWz0a6w7BT0 have an identifier of tWz0a6w7BT0, and show up in a post as

One update - to add a photo (or up to three photos) to a post, click the "attachments" tab below the text box for the post, and click the "add files" button. Once one or more photos are selected, you can enter a comment on the file, click a button to place the image inline with text, or delete the uploaded file from your post using a button. In the example below, the photo was placed inline using the button, and a comment of "Cobalt's New R30" was added.
