Anytime it is you posting and not mr. Nautie you should put one word in pink so we can tell.
Must be that male color blindness... That is pink... hot pink... So yes close to red but my eyes say it's pink!

I'm not a be fan of leaving a non bottom painted boat sitting for any length of time just for the hull yellowing reasons..

And unless it's a yacht . It's a value killer to bottom paint anyway.

Most marinas around me offer slips with a hoist that's covered for about $200.00 a month.

Now deduct launch fees every week.. need for a truck.. getting back before dark .( who really enjoys retrieving there boat on the trailer after a long day in the water?). and the ability to meet at the boat after work anytime. ( the wife and kids love that) A boat slip with a hoist changes things.

You'll be money ahead once you deduct all that and enjoy boating more often if you look into finding that perfect spot to leave your baby sitting there waiting for you.

Before I moved to the waterfront house that's what we did. And it was a great networking event as I had some days where we never left the dock.. just partying on everyone's boat. And we just did it seasonally so each year was a new set of friends while keeping the old ones.

If you wanted to try new waterways you just put it on the pesky trailer and off you went.

Call around .. it may surprise you how resonable it can be😎

Supply and demand problem here. There's only 2 marinas to choose from at Pleasant, one is $475/month and the other is $540/month for covered wet slip with electric and trailer storage. Then we would supply our own lift on top of that. We'll get there, it's just going to be another year or two before it happens.

I have mine on a lift. Get a lot of swells in our marina due to Lake Travis being fairly narrow. I know I could moor the boat where's there is not a problem, but I just feel better with it setting on the lift out of the water and harms way.

IMO, the Hydrolift if the only way to go. Quick launch, Quick retrieve, and it sure makes it easy to wipe the boat down after use.

Hydrolift is what I have looked at a bit. Did you have to buy it? Do you mind me asking how much they run?

There is no way I would leave any of my boats in the water without a lift. A large cruiser yes. I've seen a Cobalt blister it was a 2000'226.so it can happen. T55550000 really didn't have much of a water choice by him.Heck he lives in Az it's a desert :-)
He's got a good plan. Two years she will be on the water.

I use lift too. Well, I did anyway, before I got a Cobalt. The lift I have now isn't big enough. Its borderline for my 240, but no way my 262 will fit. Last year they told me they were going to build new slips, and I could buy a newer, bigger capacity lift, so I'm waiting on one.

I left my boat in the water a lot last summer, only occasionally putting it on a lift. I put it in and took it out every weekend, and it was a pain compared to just lifting it up, wiping it down and putting the cover on. When the time comes to go to a different place it's no big deal to load up, but it sure is nice to have a lift when you show up at the lake. Just drop that baby in anytime and take off.

I worry about zebra mussels too. I've never seen them in our lake but they say they're there. They also say as long as you drain the outdrive your okay. That and run the boat on a regular basis to keep them killed and cleaned out.

For giggles we contacted our local hydrohoist dealer to see what a lift would be... The 222 is a healthy girl so we were looking at one of the bigger lifts so $7500 for a new lift.

When I signed the lease on my slip first thing I did was ask about a lift. I had to purchase mine as well. Luckily it was the middle of winter and everyone was starving for work and revenue so I was able to work a deal and got a boatfloater 6600lb lift installed taxes and everything for $6500. He told me it was normally about $7400 just for the lift.

I'm in a pretty busy cove of table rock lake so I didn't want the boat rocking around in the water plus with me not having a trailer I didn't want it sitting in the water all winter. To me it was a no brainier to get a hydro lift

Thanks for the info all :) I'll keep $7500 in my mind for budgeting purposes.

Mine is a HydroHoist UltraLift2 rated at 6600# which works good for my 242. Floats it full of gas and gear with no problem. For your boat you might need to go up to the 8800# model. Keep in mind that when you launch the entire lift needs to go underwater plus a couple of feet to float the boat. I think the 8800 takes about 5'.

They are hard to find used, but if your patient it can happen. I bought mine in a package deal with the boat, and then had it moved over to my slip for about $500. I think the prices quoted are about right from what I remember. $7500 budget number ought to get you in the ballpark.

They also make a controller that will launch and recover with a remote. I covet that, but can't justify replacing my controller right now.
