Yeah I'm out here now. Makes it hard to check for leaks when you forget to put the drain plug in :x Remembered when I was coming back down the ramp after parking the trailer, got to go swimming. 64 degree water, brrrrrr. This is the first time I haven't worn a swimsuit too lol. Sitting here having lunch and freezing my buns off. But on the plus side..now I know my float switch isn't working

Nice repair work, Thunder. When I think of a "pro" job, I think of things like aluminum backing plates, not installing a bolt in fiberglass with a hammer. Hope your fix lives a long and dry life!

Bahahaha sure felt like it, sure go ahead and make fun of the guy that lives in the oven called Phoenix. My baseline water temp is 80, so technically I was swimming in -16 degree water

I think she's good, I have a little bit of water in the bilge that the pump can't get, check it, let it sit for an hour to eat, and it's still the same. Checked the through bolts specifically and they are dry.

Also checked the float switch, when I put it back in last time I guess I laid the harness on top of it, wouldn't allow it to actually float. Moved wiring harness and it's working now.

Heck that's almost the temp of our water in the summer. Normally you don't have to worry about the float switch. It's not like it rains there.and you don't keep the boat in the water. lol

You did a great Re repair and the compression of the through bolt will in itself seal it up..

As we talked about the blind holes not being blind you have no worries now . these transoms are the thickest around that I've seen.

Your ready for Havasu and Pirates cove!!
Thanks! After today I agree...come on Dec 28!!

I emailed pics this morning and got a call back from them a few minutes ago. They are refunding $150 of the installation fee and told me that if the spider cracking continues to spread I can bring the boat in and they will take care of it. I think it was the owner that I talked to, he asked if I used large fender washers on the inside when through-bolting. I didn't...worth redoing for that? On the starboard side there are a couple of probably 3-4" diameter holes cut out of the top of the stringer for the bilge blower hose to attach to. Can I use a hole saw on the port side to drill similar holes? There's no way I'd be able to get a fender washer through the little tiny drain holes I don't think.

Well that's good. At least they are stepping up.

It's something. Didn't really know what, if anything I was after. For now I think it's probably ok but if the cracks keep spreading at least he said they would fix it. Now I gotta figure out what to do about the delaminating gelcoat.

I took the boat in to a fiberglass/gelcoat shop today for an estimate on the giant crack on the sponson, and ended up leaving it there for them to fix. Guy said it was just an air void or pocket or whatever, easy fix. Should be all patched up in a week or two. Happy she's getting fixed up but I hate leaving my boat in someone else's possession.

Don't know how you guys do it. I'd be going nuts. It's ok to cry, BTW. I understand. I would be too.
