If you crawl in your engine compartment and close the lid you will also see that none of them touch the lid. Everyone should do that and adjust them. I haven't had a boat yet that they were adjusted correctly. Bfun yours is good.lol

If I understand correctly, you are saying with the lid closed, the rubber bumpers should be supporting the lid?

Yes should just touch it. Otherwise when people are on it, it flexes allot No support. Why else put them on there ? I don't knew why the factory Durant adjust them. It's like hood bumpers on a car. Also the rubber seal that goes around the compartment didn't touch much anywhere around it.

It's just funny you just posted that and mine were missing. I wonder how many other boats are missing them.

Most of mine are missing or are going to be. The rubber has gotten brittle from the heat and starting to crack.

That bumper design and placement does not impress me for a number of reasons.

Again, I swear there is ONE design engineer at Cobalt who nobody wants to call out for his occasional dumb designs and yet these pieces continue to make it into production. Waste basket anyone?

Yeah, I looked at some of the car bumpers and they are soild molded into the bolt instead of a slip-on cap which can crack and fall off.

Roger that.

Yes, the closest thing I saw was the bumper stop on one of my doors. Maybe they make them in larger sizes?

Lowes always has a good aisle with drawers of these kinds of things. So does tractor supply.

My go-to for odd hardware like this has usually been McMaster-Carr. Often, I can find something that works better than what I'm trying to fix. A quick search found:
