So I’ve enjoyed reading all 18 pages of this thread and we have some very diverse backgrounds. So here goes mine…I grew up in Southern California and spent a lot of time camping at all the Colorado River chain of lakes - Lake Powell, Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. Some of my best memories as a kid were spent with family and friends boating.

I attended the Univ of San Diego and joined the Navy to fly after college. I flew Navy F-14’s at Miramar for 7 years and did one deployment to the Middle East aboard the USS Ranger. Got out of the Navy in 1996 and went to fly at United Airlines…flew the 737, 757 and currently flying the 787.

Flying fighters in the Navy was exciting, challenging and an absolute blast to be apart of. Commercial flying is still a good career choice for anyone who wants decent time off, good pay and likes to travel. Hope to see you in the air or on the water!

Thanks for posting that ml Awesome pics. Yes we may have done a drogue and probe refueling at one time. As you know it’s a small community.

Post a 78 flight deck pic when you get a chance. Amazing machine.

…..and thanks for your service!

Guess I'll share some about myself too.

Started off as a software developer but after 10 years of slinging code I made the transition into project management. I currently oversee several teams of developers for a Fortune 400 corporation.

BBP, thanks for the kind words and I wouldn't trade my Navy service for anything...best job in world is flying fighters in a Navy fleet squadron. You're surrounded with high quality people that work hard and play hard. It's a young man's game and I'm way too old for that now!

A7, yes we may have done some refueling in the Middle East as we hit the KC10's and KC135's on a daily basis before heading into Iraq. Thanks for top off!

I'll get some 787 cockpit shots on my next trip...in the mean time, here are a few shots of Sydney Harbor and an atoll near Fiji.

Currently in Key West, and enjoying navy jets taking off near by and letting some afterburner sounds entertain the tourists.

Visit big pine key. Feed the key deer and have a pizza and beer at the No Name Pub and put your dollar on the ceiling.
