Installing bow filler

Post by Tgoertz »

Has anyone tried installing bow filler cushions themselves or have pictures how they attach? I just received mine and thought it would be an easy install. Without any instructions not so much.

If you have all three, start with the sides then add the front one last. They slide latches go into the pre-drilled holes and simply lock in place.

I have found that using the two side ones works the best leaving the front one off as when you beach and use the front ladder, you are not stepping on the cushion when entering the boat.

If you have not figured it out as of yet - I can post some pictures.

Season's Best.

Thank you K.
I have the parts for the filler cushions including latches and base the side cushions sit on that I ordered a few months after having the boat. The latches and such (I have to drill holes) need to be installed but don’t come with directions.

Quick idea if the latches are mounted to the seat filler is to put some marker on the end of the latches and gently slide them to touch the area where they need the hole. Then measure using tape 2 or 3 times to make sure you have it correct before you drill. Follow the usual guidelines for drilling fiberglass (use small bit then go larger) examples on this forum. Reach out if you need me to measure and provide more photos.

The bad thing with those patches being upside down is they will move from the lock position and unlock them the pad could fall down.

Thanks for the pictures. Have them installed and wife and kids are happier. When there isn’t any pressure on the cushion, they do fall down which is annoying. Maybe a little tape will fix it.

Yea that's why I was trying to tell you earlier so maybe you could use different type of latch or fine tune it somehow. Others have taped them. I rather use some type of different patch if it was mine.

My latch kept coming undone and cushions would fall like many have said before. I used duct tape to keep them from moving around…it works great but may not be practical if you plan on taking them on and off frequently.

Following up on the bow filler cushions. I used a piece of painters tape and have not had a problem all summer. Easy to take off if needed. Thanks for the picture and help.
