Anchor Swivel

I need to add an anchor swivel in-between the anchor shaft and chain on the windlass.

Any recommendations?

I did some cursory research, and this item seems to be more complicated than I imagined.

1) Use a swivel that is one or two sizes up. "Up" from what, the chain? Suppose the chain is 1/4". What's the next size up?

2) The swivel material seems to be important, with the recommendation to use an "alloy" material. However, "alloy" is a very broad category.

Apparently, there have been significant, catastrophic failures at the swivel point, because the swivel was made of compromised material. Any thoughts on the best material?
