Small Upholstery Tear

Post by TahoeBoating »

I have a new to me Coblat R5. I have a small tear on the passenger seat where the head door looks like it banged against the seat. I assume somebody didn’t flip up the seat and the door repeatedly hit the upholstery.

Is there a recommended fix?

So glad you found us TB…..

There are do it yourself kits you can buy if you’re handy. We used a professional mobile upholstery repair service who came to our boat and fixed our vinyl tears professionally. We had two that now look factory perfect.

You may be able to google local upholstery repair and find someone.

Keep us posted.

And welcome aboard mate.

Ask the dealer if they can get the material for you and go to a local shop, or maybe they have some laying around, I have had almost all the upholstery in my boat replaced under warranty because the square stitching like you have keeps coming out...

There's a guy in Auburn that does quality work, on 49 right off of 80...Nates I believe is the name.

Nail polish works as a short-term fix. It plugs the hole and keeps the tear from spreading.

As Kate stated, I would just put something on it that prevents it from tearing more and seals it.
