Digital Information system blank

Post by Xman214 »

Greetings,

I was replacing a battery on my 2012 273 and dropped my wrench which as luck would have it hit both the positive and Negative terminals simultaneously. When I went to start the boat all of the digitize gauges were blank. Is there a fuse or circuit breaker associated with the MIS or did I fry the system? I’ve looked everywhere and can’t locate a blown fuse or popped circuit breaker. Any help would be appreciated. Btw,where is the new member introduction page.

Thanks!

Hey sparky welcome. New Member section is on top of the first page. Second thread topic.
Do you have merc power or Volvo.
Yes hopefully you just popped the main breaker. Does anything work?
Don't forget pictures. What size engine? Pictures.

BBP,

Thanks for the quick reply. It is a Volvo Penta. I am not sure where the circuit breaker is as the ones near the helm are all in. There is not any information in the manual about he DIS. If there is a place is a shop manual online it would be great.

So the engine and everything else works but your digital display?
No sure where all of your fuses are. But I have some on my starboard exhaust manifold. Check by your perko battery stock. There are usually circuit beakers right by it. Maybe it fried one of them. Check for power on both sides. I also have circuit beakers by my key panel. Check those. Also I would try to follow the harness going to the dash panels. It's fused somewhere. Check the cables leaving the batteries for a main fuse inline. I wish I had more help but I don't.
