Based on GM's fifth generation gasoline engine blocks, Volvo introduced for 2015 a new pair of V6 4.3L engines, putting out 200 and 240 HP, respectively:

Highlights include variable valve timing, freshwater cooling, direct fuel injection, an aluminum block, and a handful of other changes. They have yet to show up in a Cobalt configurator, but I would expect to see them (especially in the 10 series) within the year.

The 200 horse one sounds almost too small for a Cobalt

They now have a 280 horse version of the 4.3L V6, including direct injection and variable valve timing. Seems like a great choice for boats in the 20-24 foot range:
