Currently sitting at the ramp at Bartlett Lake watching the circus. From left to right:

Dodge Ram rig...boat required 2 attempts to hit the trailer, has been attempting to power load to get all the way on the trailer for about 5 minutes.

Jet ski rig...ski came in hot in the no wake zone, got it on the trailer fine. Pulled out of the water and sat for 10 mins in pictured position. Line of trucks and trailer waiting to get on the ramp.

Tahoe/Tige, boat driver almost hit another boat while dropping the driver off at the dock. Took 3 attempts to get it on the trailer.

I sat there for about 30 minutes watching the show, never saw any movement in the Sheriff vehicle. I think they might have just put it there for visibility with nobody inside. Windows were too dark to see inside though. Much darker than the legal limit

Went out by myself, should have drug the boat out there too and cruised around for a bit.

Bartlett. We don't have many trees or green grass but I still love the desert. Lots of good memories on this lake. Needed some time to think today so that's why I ended up out there.

The smart ones drive all the way down and turn around at the bottom. Saw a little of both. The lake is 45' below full pool right now. A few years ago it was almost empty and they took advantage of it and extended the ramp a long way. Lots of people getting stuck on the mud before they did that.

The lakes around here are all part of a reservoir system to store water for the city/state. Water level is heavily dependent on runoff from the mountains up north. Bartlett is one of two that's on the Verde River (the other is Horseshoe Lake), then there is a chain of 4 along the Salt River (Roosevelt, Apache, Canyon, and Saguaro). Last year at this time Bartlett was 98% full, this year it's a victim of the dry winter here and only 48% full. The only lake that's "artificially" filled is Pleasant, it feeds off the Agua Fria river but they also pump water into the lake from the CAP canal system (water comes into Phoenix from Havasu, which is on the Colorado River, via the CAP canal) over the winter when demand is lower, then let it draw down over the summer when demand is higher.

My 22-month old has loved the boat. He calls it the "boot".
