We are headed to Lake Superior Wednesday afternoon. It's a 5 hour drive with the boat. My buddy has a few places up there. We will be staying by the dunes motel. It's a real small city. Beautiful clean water And cold. Last time Max was up there it was on a snowmobile. We will bring doing some hiking for v water falls towards Munising. There is a sand logslide that the loggers used to send the trees down the side of the hill and float them to the lumber mills in Marquette. The sand log slide is just like Hahn described the one on Powell. 500 feet down and deep sand I did it once and never again. Pictures to come.

I was there a couple of years ago when I rode a KTM 1190 about 1000 miles around the UP. I would never try to tackle that sand hill! I'll see if I can hunt up the pics. Amazing place.

Ok we made it up to the big lake. We went boating today. We put on lots of miles up and down the shoreline. The water is averaging 61 degrees. Very clean. It was a sand bottom all the way to the lighthouse. I have only been to the lighthouse in the winter when everything is frozen. Well we were in 40ft of water then I saw rocks. Next thing you know 15ft. So that was enough rock sighting for me. So headed back out to open water good 60 ft of water then guess what look over the side and I'm in the middle of a rock/boulder mine field going 35 mph and now 10-15 ft deep. I'm crapping my shorts wife is laughing saying there not even close. I said I can see them they are too close. They were the size of the boat. No thanks. Gave it more gas and back to 70ft. Then it to sand bottom again. On the way back we went really wide past that lighthouse. Good day on the water. We went to what they call the logslide it's about 500 ft up. Here are pictures from today and last night.

Yea the kids wanted to go tuning as long as they started on the tube. You all know that isn't going to happen. Actually they were all in the water though .

If you had a chartplotter you wouldn't have to clean your shorts.
Just punch a couple of holes and mount it to your dash. If you decide you dont like it you can remove it. You can patch the holes for like $40 I hear and there's a guy around here that does really good job. 😁

Thanks B. I have the nautical app. So I knew they were there. Judy don't like seeing boulders under your boat. Lol. Wife is still picking on me.
