Minneapolis area Volvo Mechanic?

Well, Techie may have found her boat. I don't need a full survey, but I would like a mechanic to do a compression and leakdown test, as well as put the outdrive, bilge and fuel system thru their paces. Challenge is, it's a Volvo AQ (early 90s Volvo Dual Prop)...and seems like Volvos are not common in the upper Midwest.

The local Cobalt dealer is backed up for over 6 weeks. If anyone has any recommendations for a good Volvo mechanic (or a good surveyor who could point me to a good Volvo mechanic), I'd appreciate it.

Boat is about 30 minutes due east of Minneapolis, near the St Croix River.

Thanks

Techie

Aslan7, I'm going to withhold giving out detailed information until its truly a done deal....too much heartbreak over the last 30 months. But lets just say its been gone over with fine tooth combs...just want to make sure the motor is solid.

Thanks John, I'll give St Croix a call.

I noticed the water levels on the drive back to the airport....the Minnesota, near the airport, seemed crazy high. Question, with the local rivers/lakes running so high, is anyone launching? If so, any idea where?

Lake Minnetonka doesn’t vary that much - the creek drains it fairly well. And most launches on the rivers are underwater but that just means you launch further up the ramp (or road) if you need to ;) But most people aren’t in the water yet.

The marina can prob drop it in the water without a launch. Yes everything is high right now. It's called snow melt. All of the red is flood warnings.

Thanks John....I don't need to be on the water long. Just long enough for a sea trial (and hopefully grab enough hot oil for an oil analysis). BBP, thanks for the map, amazing. On the NE Coast, we mostly worry when the water is warm enough to avoid immediate hypothermia!

Will keep y'all posted on progress.
