1998 252 updating thread

Post by xlint89 »

Instead of asking a bunch of different questions in different threads, figured I'd keep it all right here in one convenient post. I did do one on the headliner falling down because I didn't see anything pertaining to that. So future owners will have a result if they ever search for that topic

Headliner falling down in porta potti cubby.

Started another thread about this and was told to use 3M adhesive spray on both the liner and the "roof". Let it get tacky, then roll the liner with a hard paint roller to promote adhesion.

What's the best way to deal with a chunk of gel coat missing from one of the strakes?

The black smudge is just some greasy substance that will come off.

My guess is this wire has to do with the water temp gauge?

And I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to just dangle behind the boat like a fishing lure.

If you look closer at your water temp sensor screw you can see another one with particular stick in it. That's supposed to be another wire clamp retainer. You just need to add another one. You can see the white cable clamp style they use or the Other one that covers my sensor.

The best way to replace missing gel is to add gel. Go to spectrum web site and order some gel paste and follow the directions and put it in that spot and she will look like new when your done. I think it's sold through iboats website. Just Google it.

I got a small kit from west marine with toner when I did a small “white” section corner that also showed fiber on my Four winns . It came with everything.
Just look closely for spider lines as you may have to enlarge the area so it sticks good to have good adhesion.

What are you guys using for the stainless cup holders? They range from really cheap to pretty pricey. Stepped bottoms, reduced noise, plastic with SS rim.

I got the same ones as BB but without the LEDs, really do make a noticeable difference in the interior.
