Horn access

Post by Little ab »

Can anyone tell me how to access the horn on a 232 Cobalt? I know its on the left side under the rail, but I can't find access to it.

Remove a speaker. Go through anchor locker maybe reach out from the storage space from behind the bow backrest of the seat or reach up from under a bow cushion. No matter what it will suck. I take it you can't unscrew it from the outside?

Is there anything on a boat that doesn’t suck to work on?

Luckily my horn works if the wire on push button switch is in the mood.

Honestly my engine is super easy to work on. Compared to other boats I'll take me engine compartment all day long. But then that's about it. Lol

Finally got to the horns. I went down the side from the storage compartment. You have to unscrew the board the horns are mounted to from the outside opening and the then drop the horns to be removed from behind the storage compartment. Real pain. I replaced both horns and they still don't work. It must be a relay or bad ground somewhere down the line.

Where is the horn relay on a 232 Cobalt? I replaced the horns and they still just make a bumping noise. The switch is clean.

My horn doesn’t use a relay. 12 volts is applied directly to the pair of horns through the horn switch at the helm.
