Thanks.
Thanks that means a lot. I try! Just not sure at what?
Hard to believe some would block me! πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

John to the nearest white paging telephone!

To answer your question, John did. He bought a boat and realized there was not an active Cobalt Chat site anywhere. When he started it, it was just him talking to hisself. Then a few weirdos showed up, and like a moth to flame, birds of a feather, minnows in a ponds.. it grew.

I still remember when 3 or 4 days would go by before anyone posted anything. And I remember when we hit a hundred members, and made a big deal about it hitting 500 and 1000.
Now I can't keep up...

This is granddaddy John

And this is pretty much the core from when we did the factory tour. It's missing a few, but not many. I won't mention any names like Tgrace...

Wow. I actually recognize some of the people it that photo.
This is the only place on the web that I would say I frequent social media.

Nice to see that group again - hopefully we can do it again in the next few years. BTW, we just hit 100,000 posts - see viewtopic.php?p=100000#p100000 for the 100,000th.

Yt's explanation is exactly right - I went online after I ordered my Coblat to find a Cobalt forum to tell me all about how to add a second battery, upgrade my stereo, etc., and there wasn't one. I had never done anything like that, but rented some server time, found some software, and here we are.

It was long overdue John. I remember thinking the same thing back in 2007. Glad you did something about it though. :D
Great to finally be in the black too ( I think) with all these ads.

Here’s to the next 100,000 and beyond with fellowship and friendships to match. 🍻

Yep, the board is self-sustaining. Google recently automatically added a popover advertisement (this was not my doing) that I don't much like - axing that is on my to-do list. I don't mind overlooking the banner ads, but I don't like being forced to click an ad to go between pages. There's a balance somewhere, and I hope to stay on the user-friendly side of the line.

Well, BBP, 15,000 posts....it's actually quite an accomplishment. You've been a source of inspiration, entertainment, frustration, knowledge, education, amusement, and bewilderment, often times in the same post.

Seriously, thanks for all you've contributed. It does make a difference when we have people like you that are willing to help.
