Hey CP1...welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!

Thanks for the picture too. You’re absolutely right.

Any pics of that engine or an interior shot of the cockpit and cuddy?

Where do you boat?

Again welcome aboard mate!

On the fence between 243, 255 or 263.

Can’t find a 243 with captains call or big motor. 263 looks best to me, want the gxi. 255 is 3rd place for some reason, but has the extended swim platform. Just can’t win!

Hey Bull...missed ya' the first time around. So glad you found us last year. You are very patient in your buying decision.

Of course the 263 gets my vote. Amazing and versatile machine. How will you be using her?

And a belated welcome aboard mate.

Thank you! Will be a Lake Tahoe boat, slip in the keys.

263 indeed, would like the following: GXi with Captains call, extended swim platform, heat, filler cushions, 4 window, trailer.

What was the last year for the 263, 2007? I prefer the Volvo engines, but open to Mec HO.

The 243 is obviously newer and do like the separate head layout. Don’t see many for sale.

We are in the Keys too. Sold a cuddy cabin boat 3 years ago to get an open bow Cobalt. For us, way more versatile for Tahoe.

That was the boat I just sold this year. It went fast.
Yes 2007 was the last year of that 262/263 hull model. The hull was rebranded to a 272 in 2008 but the interior configuration is different.

We found the opposite experience from Bruce58. Had the exact hull as the 262 in a cuddy configuration but folks wanted to get out of the colder air at times and the cuddy was fantastic for that on Lake Erie. We've boated on Tahoe numerous times and that would come in handy for ya' depending on how you use your boat. Average weather temps at that elevation is on the cool side except for July. High 70's and below. YMMV.

The one place you DON"T want a cuddy is where the temps reach 100. We actually had our 263 shipped from Lake Meade where people don't want them. They are like ovens. Got a smoking deal when we purchased and had a very desirable boat that sold instantly where we live. Plus they look so cool.

Btw, took us 3 years to finally get one optioned like you want (except we also wanted the stainless arch and minus two windows) as they are unicorns in that configuration. Plus people hold on to the fully loaded ones. Jump on it when you find it. Enjoy!

Less than 5% of the boats in the 22' to 30' range are cuddy cabin on Lake Tahoe. Temps are often in the upper 70s mid 80s in August and July. I live here a large percentage of the year.

We used our cuddy cabin boat to spend the night a couple times in Emerald Bay but it was mainly used for storage. We anchor all the time so it is very nice to just walk up through the center of the boat vs climbing up on the deck.

We've been there quite a bit as well. Being that it is an Alpine lake it is very cold. At least the sun shines a lot. Water sports was fun but it was nice to get out of the weather both there and on Erie for us or the kids when drying off. The average temp rarely gets above 80 except for a few in July. They love being up in the cuddy as well. Again YMMV especially with how you use your boat.

Yeah Tahoe gets a lot warmer than Erie. We hit 90s quite a few times this year. Almost every day was above 80 in July.

Our June was definitely colder that it usually is. We called it Junuary up here this year.

Right now we are looking out the window at rain...no snow unfortunately.
