Interesting offer from Cobalt dealer

So I get a call today from my local dealer with an interesting offer. He knows I sold my boat and I’m currently in the market. They received a special built demo R7 Surf equipped with an 8.2 Mag and Bravo 4. This apparently was a “test boat” for the new Bravo 4. Because of the current build demands at the factory they have not been able to get enough test hours on it for QC. They sent the boat to my local dealer because of the high percent of Mercury he sells. He only orders Merc unless it’s a surf model. They said Cobalt wants someone to put a least 100 hours on this boat before Labor Day. They do not have anyone willing to commit to this summer. He asked if I was willing, but there is a catch.

1) I have to insure the boat
2) I’m responsible for all fuel
3) I have to provide video documentation of all 100 hrs.
4) I have to provide storage and not leave it on the water overnight

Otherwise it’s mine to use.

What do you guys think?

Sounds risky..
6 months of insurance at $500
Fuel that equates to 100hrs $500
Launch fees $100
iPhone video? $0.00

Geeze that’s a $180 ish a month.

Pass

Luckily for KYBoater, his dealer, and Cobalt Team Nauti is more than willing to assume that level of risk. Have the dealer call us. I'll pick the R7 up tomorrow.

This the part I would have an issue with. Not sure I could get 100 hours having to launch it all the time.

Not a problem for us... So much storage here... Boats for days.
100 hours... No problem.

I will need more memory cards for the camera so I'm probably out.
