A25 Trim tabs

Want to add tabs to my A25. Every boat I’ve ever owned had them and I miss them. Anyone have photos of mounting location and size? Specific to A25? And controller at helm location?

I am interested as well so I pinged Cobalt about the factory tabs. They said the factory setup is a Lenco 12" x 9" tab.
Controller at helm is mounted in the dash on the right side. I found pics of that online.

About to pull trigger on adding tabs to my A25. Wanted to share my research in the event it can help others.
Apparently Cobalt had to use a made to order tab for the A25, the inside corner is cut off on port and starboard tabs.
21317-A (002) Lenco.pdf
Cobalt appears to have placed these next to the outdrive instead of out of the edge of the extended running surface. Lenco said they probably had water flow issues with a full tab next to the outdrive so this special tab. $250 more special , less metal to be exact. LOL. Go figure.
Lenco gave me the part numbers for anyone else looking for this add on before they slap on full tabs. Probably looking at $1500 to add these to my A25.
10995-103 Tabs and actuators - $720
20133-103 - 20' Harness to helm - $38
15170-001 - All in 1 LED switches - $264
I figure 5 hours labor from a shop or 2 hrs DIY.

BTW, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Bennett or Lenco tabs on the outside extended running surface. They’re usually on the inside like yours. Haven’t seen the corners cutoff though. Good to know about the custom requirements.

Finally added these at end of season. Highly recommend for the A25. Really evens the boat out in all areas. Stays on plane at lower rpm, can cruise around on plane at 2300rpm and 20mph if needed , really helps lift heavy ass end of this model out of the water and no more shifting port passengers to starboard. Anyone who says this boat doesn’t need tabs has never operated one with any kind of weight on board. It’s also removed any bow porpoising that was there. Just a much smoother and enjoyable boat for the operator by adding these tabs. Costs right around $1700.

McCoy38 This is super helpful. I've been thinking about adding trim tabs to my A28. I had them on my 272 and really utilized them (same conditions you mentioned). I'll call to verify, but assume I can use the same package as you. Curious, are these electric or hydraulic? Do you have a 8.1L or 6/6.2L?
I looked on Lenco's website and could not find the PC, which made sense given made to order. Did you order direct or thru reseller?

I ordered through Hodges marine. Pretty painless and arrived quick for make to order part. They are electric. I am running the 8.2 Merc 380HP.
I would almost be certain it is same part number for the A28 but just call Colbalt to be 100%. Ask for their part number and give that part number to Lenco direct and they will give you the Lenco part number and you order that through Hodges. Lenco wont sell direct but they were super helpful.

Mccoy38 Can you please confirm if you were able to use an existing wiring harness from the factory? Curious if these boats are pre-wired, meaning I can tap into wiring harness inside engine box that runs to helm. Appears there are extra wiring harneses/not used and curious if any are for tabs.

I don't know for certain on the A series, but the other numbered series are pre-wired for it. While looking around for wires this past weekend to run my power / ground to the amplifier, I notices my 2014 242 was pre-wired for trim tabs. Wires were perfectly labeled at the transom, and under the helm. I'd do some digging, but I bet your boat has them there already.

Did you install yourself or have a shop install the tabs? Just curious as to placement and if the tabs/hinges come prewelded. Trying to figure out if it is a DIY project or pay to play. Thanks in advance.
