Looked at Ardbeg’s site. They lost me at “the smokiest” I just don’t like the burnt rubber taste of scotch. I’m laughing at myself here. I don’t like smokey whiskey but like cigars 🤦‍♂️

Oh yeah, if Islays are "dead bodies," then Arbeg is "mass grave."

Love it, but not a Beginner Scotch.

I'm a Scotch guy too. Dalmor is my favorite along with Aberlour. Cigars? I've tried but just can't get I to them.

In my cabinet- no particular order

Dalmor 18
McAllen 18
Dalvenie 17 doublewood sherry cask
Johnny Walker Blue and Black (Black was a gift--haven't opened it)

Crown
Crown XO
Special Reserve
Woodford Reserve
Assorted flavors of Crown (all gifts--Black, Rye, Vanilla)
Redbreast 15

Various others--Titos, Hendricks, Cuervo Gold and of course the standards like Grand Marnier, Captain,Meyers, Bacardi

Funny thing is I'm not really a drinker. I just learned a long time ago that the good stuff doesn't hurt as much. Probably haven't poured one at the house in 18 months.

Sailer55330, as I read your list of stock I was thinking “I drink too much to stock up” 🤦‍♂️

Tonight is Redbreast and a war hammer

We bought our current home is September of 2005. I poured a drink yesterday to celebrate our 26th anniversary and just about finished my third bottle of scotch since we've been in this house. Not much of a drinker since I became a father 22+ years ago.

Some of my wife's friends call me DD. Designated Driver.

It was my sorry attempt at a joke that didn’t land. The most expensive whiskey accompanied by the cheapest cigars.
Glad you cleared that up. I thought your oxygen mask had slipped off a few times too many.

Just tried a new one for me.
Bourbon called Redemption, finished in rum cask.
This finishing seems to be all the rage nowadays for beer, wine and liquor.
Everyone swaps out their casks and barrels after making the primary product and infuses new flavors.
Anyway, very smooth, nice sipping bourbon. Neat or with a shard of ice to cool it a bit.

Bourbon is by far my favorite, Eagle Rare being #1 on the list. Drink Knob Creek regularly, good mid-priced Bourbon, might be too oaky for some. Favorite whisky by far though is Pike Creek. It's a Canadian aged in port wine barrels - probably the smoothest i've ever sipped. As far as cigars I always carry a small Boveda acrylic humidor to the lake. Partial to Olivas, Ashtons and Montecristos - most recently Leaf cigars by Oscar. The Boveda has been great for travelling and all this talk about cigars and whisky reminds me that it's about that time..... :)

20mm, one of my old fraternity brothers suggested Leaf by Oscar. I really like them too!

Fortunate to have a great cigar shop close to my house that carries a good selection and the lady that owns it turned me on to the Oscar cigars a little while ago - great smoke and have not had a bad one yet. Like nothing more than sitting out on the deck after a day on the water enjoying one of these and some good bourbon / whisky

I am a gin lover, but I'm not a cigar guy. Some say gin is not whiskey, but I beg to differ. My favorite is the Barr Hill Tom Cat. It's Barr Hill regular gin that's made with a touch of honey that is aged in a whiskey barrel. It's gin forward but finishes like a good rye whisky. I use it to make Manhattans, and they're superb.
