Ordered the Sony marine head unit today off of Crutchfield.

https://www.crutchfield.com/

Had $41 worth of discounts to redeem from a prior purchase so it came in at a great price with free shipping and you cannot beat their lifetime tech support or sales service in general. It's much more user friendly...blue tooth compatible...and can output up to 12 total speakers for when we eventually add the wake tower speakers.

Hopefully this unit will be plug and play after I remove the original Sony. The original Cobalt audio upgrade included two amps...6 Xplod speakers and one subwoofer.

Was looking at Crutchfield's site yesterday. Thinking of upgrading my speakers to JLs.

You will not regret that Driller...as long as you have the bass and power to support it.

That's why I am hesitating. Original system is MB Quart. I need to check the power on the amp. I wanted to get by without changing out the entire system (just a speaker upgrade) but I'm not sure I would get very much bang for my buck leaving the rest original.

I sure like the looks of these babies.

Very Manly speakers.

With built-in Blue LEDs.

I had MB Quartz installed in a 300Z. It always sounded too bright to me.

Give Crutchfield a call. I spoke with the technician this morning (Kevin) who was very helpful in answering my questions before I ordered.

Thanks A7, I'll do that when I'm ready to pull the trigger.

My MB Quartz has good enough bass for me, but then I don't like the bass to overpower everything else. System sounds ok to me, and others comment it sound great, but I'm thinking that upgrading the speakers would be an improvement.

No subwoofer in my system.

It's amazing the difference in sound with just a speaker change. I think as long as you are using a amp. If it was just a pain head unit then I would say don't waste your time. Love mine. I might add two syn 4 amps so I can push tower speakers a sub and my six boat speakers. Just thinking right now.almost pulled the trigger the other night.

Take it up on plane at 45mph and its sounds like a 1980 realistic with 6x9s..
