I was wanting to know if the hardtop could be installed on a 2016 R30. Currently have the arch with soft top bimini.

That'd be a question for Cobalt customer service. Since it's still a current model, it "might" be possible. But, it'd be quite an investment considering, not only the fiberglass add-on, but potential structural & electrical mods, as well.

Could it be done? Yes . It is economically smart? Probably not. The arch is different and the hardtop has multiple mounting points that won't match up with the Bimini. Better to sell your boat and buy another with the hardtop IMHO

I was pondering the same question when considering a 2016 R30. I was told that it was possible by a salesman that conferred with a factory rep but that it would be expensive and require extensive modifications. I was persuaded to pass. Good luck!

Dang, came here to find this thread. We have 2014 R5 and interested in having an enclosure built and mount to soft bimini on the arch. Shop worried that the near vertical drop from the soft bimini to the windshield would create too much pressure at speed and wouldn't warranty the work. They suggested adding a hard top so here I am.

I think you have the wrong boat if you really want an enclosure. The R5 never even had a hardtop as an option from the factory so I'm thinking this is, at the very least, cost prohibitive. The A28 was made with a hard top option but even that is kind of hard to come by from what I've seen.

Looking at a 336 now, expensive upgrade just to deal with inclement weather but will solve the enclosure problem, extending our season and provide tremendous peace of mind.

Really enjoy this R5.
