.

Before storing our 263, I repainted and reapplied the decals mentioned above. I did cut out with a razor blade the area where the drive ratio; drive serial number; and transom serial number were located so as not to cover those numbers up.

First picture is the BEFORE.

Last two are the after.

We shall see how they last next summer.. :?

My set showed up today, I'm pleasantly surprised with how they look. We will see about durability...

I agree T5. Was pleasantly surprised as well.

I still may pick up the OEM pair Matt talked about depending on how they look this time next year.

Thx for the pic.

Decals and drive shower checked off the list! Alignment of the colors on the side decals could be better but for 1/4 the price I'm happy enough. Now to see how well they hold up.

Decals look good in the background behind that drive shower, T550!

What is a drive shower and what does it do?

When you're moving g forward it picks up water and sprays it on the upper drive unit, the part that's out of the water. The cool spray reduces the temperature by 60 degrees or so. Cosmetically it keeps water from boiling off and leaving mineral deposits on the finish. Mechanically, it helps dissipate heat from the drive, keeping the parts and oil cooler.

Definitely. The Simrek ones do not require drilling, that's why I like it. Some of the other ones make you drill a hole for the water pickup in the cavitation plate.

Can't leave this thread without a final picture of the painted drive either :D
