I have been doing some minor gelcoat repairs on the white inside with great results. Have some dings and cracks on the navy and tan gel coat that I was going to try with the spectrum gelcoat that I have been using. Has anyone done any colored gel coat repair on an older boat. Only concern is i’m not comfortable tinting the gelcoat color. I have all the detailing supplies to wet sand and polish it to great finish, but don’t want to ruin it if there is a high chance of color not matching

If you get the correct colors it will match dead on. I've done blue, black, red, white and yellow with great results.

Below 70. I used a heat light but it was a pain.

My gel guy ordered the gel for my A25 from Cobalt. Matched exactly. Think he called with Vin and they provided color code. Or he bought direct from Cobalt. Not exactly sure.

www.spectrumcolor.com has formulas to match most model years and colors of Cobalt already in their system. You can buy a quart if you anticipate doing a lot, or a smaller repair kit for a minor ding or two. It works pretty well, and definitely better than leaving it unrepaired.

Spectrum gel coat repair, then multiple round of sanding from 240 up to 800, then 1500 and 3000 wet sanding, then rotary compounding with stark level R compound, then final finishing polish with menzerna 400 on orange LC foam pad with DA polisher

Maybe be overkill, but got great results
